Ret probably should not be allowed to take part in next two or three Dreamhack events?

That's my opinion, should just ban him from a couple events for wasting peoples time.

Should Sase be banned as well?

in my opinion (and bly's probably too), yes he should. WTF was he doing getting carriers and a mothershit with blys tournament on the line.

He almost won with those carriers though, it was really close

And when he was close to winning he A-MOVED a mothership, colossus, 2 phoenixes and a carrier vs 20 blink stalkers..... thats throwing the game hard
So.. this Earth, nice planet you might say- WRONG!!

Exactly how though?

Nightend beat Nani in their 1-1 and they had the same games won to loss ratio?

I do not understand this at all :S

try reading the thread?

3-2 = 1

Yeah okay, brb reading 90 odd pages (Takes a while).

What the hell do you mean 3-2? All the games are Bo3?

Edit - What page is it that clears things up?

It was a 3-way tie, their score against ForGG was counted as well. Naniwa went 2-0 and 1-2, thus 3-2. NightEnD went 2-1 and 1-2, thus 3-3.

To me this isn't really a big deal. Does the NFL allow team to not play if they are mathematically out of the playoffs?

Taeja's game could have mattered. as could've HerOs. the 6th seed could have 5-0d the group, and been placed in 2nd round.

It's a three-way tie. So we are talking about internal map- scores of two Bo3's for each players.
Naniwa won 2-0 and lost 1-2, which is better map wise than Nightends 2-1 & 1-2.

See everyone calm the f down and stop harassing Ret now, geez this community is ridiculous! Always jumping to the worst conclusions...

The admins wrote Apollo and he said if Ret loses that game NE is through over Naniwa. So it's quite understandable most of us thought while watching that Ret is unfairly throwing the game. Not everybody takes a break in watching, tries to figure out tie rules and do the math themselves when there was such a definite sounding clearcut answer given over the stream.

God all you people having figured that out earlier, get over yourselves. You all know how this misunderstanding developed and now you just want to feel superior.

In any case, the only one that got screwed here is Ret, cause 98% of tens of thousands of viewers thought he is throwing a game unfairly.

Not only that but it shouldn't matter whether Ret throwing the game affects the results or not. It didn't when Naniwa did it and look at the shitstorm that caused.

The Naniwa shitstorm wasn't justified though, so from my point of view that's a terrible example.

I agree it was way waaaaay too extreme. The punishment did not suit the crime. Your opinion shouldn't influence whether it is a good or bad example though. In both cases it appeared players weren't taking the games seriously in an official tournament.

I think that some reprimanding is in order personally.
I root for Euro Zergs, NA Protoss* and Korean Terrans. (Any North American who has beat a Korean Pro as Protoss counts as NA Toss)

This is so subjective and unrealistic.
It feels like some of you people live in a drama bubble.

I agree that neither Ret or Sase took their matches seriously, but why should they even play?
Nothing stops them from forfeiting and leaving, they can claim they are hurt or injured if they want, are they going to be forced to play?
Ideally I would like the players to play seriously every game. On the other side, player would like to not be forced to play meaningless games and reveal strategies and builds for future events.

if you dont want to reveal any cool strats thats fair but then at least play standard.

It i of course also the tournaments fault for having a bad system but to your question: they should play their best for fairness and professionalism.

MAPS. It comes down to internal maps since all three players were tied in matches.

True, but going for carriers while obviously bad wasnt that bad considering Feast refused to get blink, pretty sure Carriers+semtries kill stalkers without blink. But then again just like you said he couldve won that by just going standard

Yeah okay, brb reading 90 odd pages (Takes a while).

What the hell do you mean 3-2? All the games are Bo3?

Nani, ForGG and Nightend are all 2-3, 5-7
Internally they all beat eachother in a circle, however Nani won 2-0 over ForGG, where as ForGG and Nightend only won 2-1

thus Nani wins

Ouch okay.

Must say that is REALLY stupid. It's like 'hey I beat you but I lose because you beat someone else....'

Oh well, I'd rather have Nani through anyway (no offence to Nightend <3). Just think they could work it out a lot better!
Bleh.
