It was a 3-way tie, their score against ForGG was counted as well. Naniwa went 2-0 and 1-2, thus 3-2. NightEnD went 2-1 and 1-2, thus 3-3.

So we are talking about internal map- scores of two Bo3's for each players. Naniwa won 2-0 and lost 1-2, which is better map wise than Nightends 2-1 & 1-2.

The punishment did not suit the crime. Your opinion shouldn't influence whether it is a good or bad example though. In both cases it appeared players weren't taking the games seriously in an official tournament. I think that some reprimanding is in order personally.

I agree that neither Ret or Sase took their matches seriously, but why should they even play? Nothing stops them from forfeiting and leaving, they can claim they are hurt or injured if they want, are they going to be forced to play? Ideally I would like the players to play seriously every game. On the other side, player would like to not be forced to play meaningless games and reveal strategies and builds for future events. if you dont want to reveal any cool strats thats fair but then at least play standard. It i of course also the tournaments fault for having a bad system but to your question: they should play their best for fairness and professionalism.

But then again just like you said he couldve won that by just going standard

Must say that is REALLY stupid. It's like 'hey I beat you but I lose because you beat someone else....' Oh well, I'd rather have Nani through anyway (no offence to Nightend <3). Just think they could work it out a lot better!
