Standard LR rules apply: No balance whining, no KeSPA vs. GomTV inciting, no excessive derailing ESPECIALLY when games are on. This is not a thread for you to argue with other people.

Wrong. Even if Rain had crushed Mvp 20-0 in other tournaments, that doesn't mean a DAMN THING to Mvp right now. The GSL is Mvp's playground. Rain is trying to get a legitimate claim to best in the world, but he can't do that unless he beats Mvp on his home turf. You can talk about Rain's amazing run all you want, but the truth is EVERY SINGLE TIME people count Mvp out, he wins. GSL is Mvp's home turf, where he thrives in this EXACT kind of environment. Throw out your statistics all you want, but they don't mean a damn thing to Mvp.
If Mvp wins, Rain is another derailed hype train, just like so many before him. But if Rain wins, he will win this season of GSL and be on the road to immortality.
Rain couldn't get the job done. He had all the hype and momentum in the world behind him and he still couldn't beat Mvp. Mvp proves once again that he is the best.
To be fair, I think Rain has shown himself to be ONE of the best in the world right now. Mvp played better today. If they play tomorrow, maybe Rain wins. And the next day, Mvp wins. The 'skill' difference is very very small. When Code S is as stack as it is now, anyone who makes the Ro4 (or even Ro8 for that matter) are the top players in the world.
I don't get how so many people still overlook Life. This is the guy who had five different accounts ranked at #1 GM while only playing the game "casually". Everyone in Korea knew once he joined the team house in ST, he'd become one of the best zergs. Only if you guys had seen his occasional streams on daum... The guy has ridiculous micro and macro. It's not a fluke that he is overwhelming the other guys only with his speedlings.
This evil Kespa rodent has finally eaten the dust, I am rejoycing, but Taeja's defeat is pretty sad, even thought life is showing some amazing stuff ! The finale will be Good !
If MVP wins, not only is it his 5th Championship, but it's also IM's 3rd time in a row to win it(S1:DRG, S2:MVP, S3:Seed) and with only one more Code S left 3/5 Code S is pretty insane...
Also love it whenever MVP wins he highfives or brofists the coach :D

That's if you're going by Korean age, in Western age he would only be 14.
He was born in January 1997. He's 15 in western age
They confuse the hell out of me some time, they are casting to a western audience but use korean age.
he's 16 in Korean age, Tastosis were just straight up wrong
16 already? Well, then it's not that impressive.
Ok i looked, Life is 15 years old to everyone else but koreans xp
Life b-day 01-11-1997
http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Life For who we make all this stuff? Everything can be found on Liquipedia. He is 15 and the youngest player in GSL Finals and the youngest player who ever made it to Ro8 as Maru made it only to Ro16 once.

boo, liquibetting different from predictions >:0
Not particularly quoting but sort of hijacking waxangel post to respond to a warning if this is seen.
Yeah, my comment was sort of an unneeded vent on how people try to take away from what was obviously inspired play from Life, managing to overcome a great player. I didn't want to respond to each negative comment individually and I am tired/cranky so I just left a spiteful open post showing my frustration. Yeah it was silly because I was lowering myself closer to those whom I was deeming foolish.

I don't even really understand that, he crushed Symbol straight up in Ro8 without even using any mindgames afaik.
Well MVP is not exceptional strong mechanically. He wins his games through strategy but even more through decision making. He does not have crazy micro and macro skills like fellow Terrans Taeja, Byun or Marineking, but he knows how to solve problems he's facing much better than anyone else. This will be definately an interesting finals. On one hand we have the incredible gifted Life with the best mechanics we have ever seen from a Zerg player (sry DRG, but this is it!) and on the other hand MVP with his great preparation and decision making. Could make up for a great finals but could be very one sided either way too.
I don't agree. It is more that MKP's micro or Bomber's macro are their biggest advantages but they lack in other aspects of the game. Mvp is equally covered on all fronts but also has great mindset to win tournaments like gsl.
Also, Life is no doubt good but as Tastosis said in Mvp vs. Rain, most players have a distinct play style. This makes it easier to prepare for them. When I saw that Mvp will meet Rain in the ro4 I knew he will win if he manages to stop Rain from harassing with warp prism drops and chargelot runbyes. He did exactly that while Taeja, for example, failed to prepare against it, similar to how he failed to prepare against this aggressive TvZ playstyle from Life.
Mvp can both identify his opponents advantages and also neutralize them and that's why he is always the favorite in tournaments like gsl.
I don't think finals will be one sided, but I also don't see Life winning vs. Mvp.
I think Life will take a game or two from Mvp by some early game aggression but lose the macro games.
I think people need to give Taeja more credit for those games, even if he struggled.
- First game he got hit by a huge ling/bling timing attack with no siege and his army in the middle. He still evened the game out but lost a bunch of SCVs in the middle (I think he was considereing a basetrade for a while, but tried to return home). - Second game he was fine and perhaps ahead until he lowered that depot. He looked shaken after that game. I think he could have used someone there to back him up? - Third game he was seconds away from siege tech when he lost a bunch of workers at his third. I find it hard to believe that Life calculated attacking 5 seconds before siege tech, he was probably hoping for it not to be finished but still.
Great play by life, and sure Taeja could have done better, but not as bad as it looks at first glance. On average I think MVP will get siege tech earlier in any greedy build vs Life.

Quoting yourself is sure a good way to dismiss the fact that nobody cared about your first post.

Yes, but losers in the semi final is a very long way from "rain 3-0 MVP EsF players can't compare to the skill of Brood War, what noobs it's already over, double RR time!"

Jjakji 2.0
Not quite Jjakji, I think predictions for this final will be 60% Mvp and 40% Life for the " head " votes after seeing Life's games in GSL. I believe Leenock was favored 92% or 96% to win on Liquibet or something ridiculous.
