Lol it might hurt Seed emotionally that he got knocked out. But he's not a fluke, holy hell. So much of his play was innovating, especially in the GSL he won.
Seed kind of strikes me like the MVP of toss with how he prepares his builds. Preparing vs Life is quite hard because he play an unorthodox style. Versus symbol he seemed quite even, but let's not jest Symbol is a monster when he's in his element.
Symbol is also probably one of the strongest contenders to take this GSL besides Life.

Lame games. I picked a couple of games to watch and if this is how GSL players are going to play, I have to say they will be in for a rude awakening in a few months when they face Kespa players. (watch how aggressive they play)
And GSL should remove these turlte-encouraging maps. Let protoss learn how to expand and defend without chokes, and make Z's third more vulnerable (maybe close toward the middle). Get rid of ramps on naturals as well.
Symbol's play, while improved, continues to unimpress. Turtle into deathball? Good talent toi have. Seed also played dumb, sitting on his ass as if he could compete in race against time.
I did not even watch every game but I don't feel like watching whatever I missed. I only watched the first and the last sets. (happened to be Seed v. Symbol matches) Are other games exciting? Or they're the same breed, macro/turtle into deathballs and spine farms?

The Life games would be the opposite of everything you were complaining about. Happy also did some aggressive builds against Symbol.

What is wrong with people? Sooo much whining it makes me so sad, if Seed had won, would it be different? Would there be 1k upvoted threads on reddit saying "Seed advance in ro16 beating Symbol 2-1!!! one of the best GSL series ever!!", "The rivalry has begun!" Honestly I think there would be.
What is wrong in giving Symbol some credit here? I think he deserves to be congratulated, "upvoted", talk about the incredible rivalry between Seed and Symbol. It makes me sad that people focus so much on balance.
But, if you want to hear my opinion on the games and the balance question, I don't think you can speak of a pure lategame fight in any of the games, but still game 2 on Daybreak was close to. In game 2, the ONE thing that made it an unpure lategame situation, was that Symbol was able to advance into Seeds main base with nydus play and take out Seeds fleet beacon, making Seed unable to reproduce fast enough to deal with Symbol. Seed certainly had the bank of resources to reproduce but this one move made the game favor Symbol and therefor made it an unpure lategame situation in my opinion. The way Seed engaged Symbol on the ramp leading up to his original mainbase also seemed rushed and not so favorable for him, I'm not so sure on this one.
In game two, I think people are forgetting how behind Seed was from the get go. His 3rd was denied for a long time, some other zergs would have massed up armies and attacked Seed and possibly won cause of the advantage. Symbol chose to go to the ultimate army as fast as possible and as greedy as possible, as he had the opportunity to do so. He made sure to do everything in his power to "seal the deal" and bring his advantage to its fullest. It baffles me to see people that can't understand this, when someone plays passive like Symbol did after a huge advantage has been attained, it's not because they want to get to a lategame situation were both players are on an even footing, they want to get to a lategame where they have a superior chance to win. Symbol was ahead in game 3, all the way until the end. The fact is covered up by the army of carriers Seed had, and I think people must be thinking something like "he has a maxed army of carriers and archons, the other guy a max of infestors and broodlords, they must be in an even lategame situation". I can't see any other explanation. Symbol won game 3 cause he turtled it out ultimate lategame style with a big advantage, playing as safe as possible, that is the way I see it. I hope someone can follow my thought here.

I'm not a huge fan of the turtley style Symbol resorted to, but I am a fan of him playing to his strengths. He found something he could beat Seed with, and used it well. Every time he tried to end it midgame, Seed would find a way to deflect his attacks and gain an advantage, so he just played defense. Well done!

Protoss has a lead in the early/midgame with their insanely strong timings, for example the immortal all in, which often cannot be stopped even upon scouting them. But if Zerg gets Broodlords out while still having a decent economy, and does not screw up entirely by letting them get caught by a vortex, it's over. The game cannot be won by Protoss at this point, because everything on the ground melts and Protoss air units are shit in an actual engagement. I really hope HotS is gonna change this matchup because it's just stupid atm.
not sure how Tempest is gonna help solve the problem

Fuck PvZ such a shitty MU with 10 millions Spine crawlers and spore crawlers into 20 millions of BLs/infestor and corruptor.
Its getting fucking worse than ZvZ man.

You know something is wrong when ZvZ is the 2nd best MU to watch (after TvT).

Hell no it just got a lil bit better recently cuz ppl don't wanna go lings/blings and 10 pools every game, also it get really frustrating in mid and late game due to Roaches and infestor only. I consider it worse than PvP.

It has to be frustrating for Seed since he was knocked out despite going 2-2 with Symbol yesterday. It seems like a tie-breaker match would be more fair.

This has to stop! seriously. This kind of thinking already got us the abomination that is called "extended series".
Winning the first set gave him the huge advantage of going to the winners match instead of the losers match. That is perfectly enough. GSL already has the extra backup security that is combining group stages with BO3 series (unlike OSL for example which only has one security with a normal round robin). . If you lose two BO3s of three on one day then you just deserve to be eliminated.

Essentially, prior match score between the same two players are factored into their most recent match. In this case, Symbol vs. Seed round 2 would have started with a 2:1 advantage for Seed since he won the first BO3 (presumably it'd be first to 3 wins, or BO5, format).
