Top Korean pros consistently place Stephano as one of the world's best Zergs. But I guess you know better than them, right?
Let's talk after we get to the WCS Grand Finals. Will Stephano take it all? I don't know. Are there better Koreans? Certainly. Is Stephano one of the best Z players in the world? Without a doubt.

Did EG really offer them a contract? When?

Good ol' Rob.
alexander garfield @ottersareneat
@gluttonysloth @sirscoots @gosutrolling made them offers months ago . they are happy where they are. wish them the best of luck.

The "Humble Korean" act doesn't fly with foreign audiences... it's boring. Nobody wants a guy to go up there and pretend he is so humbled by the experience, so grateful, bla bla bla. The dude just smashed the best Europe has to offer and took home a $25 grand. He should be hyped and he should be cocky.
All the haters can keep on hating, because it's obvious that Stephano draws the crowds. Any tournament he is in, the stream numbers show it. Hell, look at the stream numbers as soon as he starts playing... they always spike and drop when he is done. Whole tournaments suffer when this guy is knocked out early (doesn't happen often...).
Much better, IMO, than half these guys who get up on stage and offer no conversation or emotion at all.
Naniwa can be as "passionate" about the game as he wants... doesn't seem to be getting him too far. Maybe money and success are better driving factors.
Lol stupid haters who can't admit his talent:
Kevin van der Kooi @RotterdaM08 Freaking Stephano. :D He was here for 6 days.. didn't play a single game, flies for 20 hours.. shows up and wins. Just makes you mad. :D GG!
He was hanging out with NASL staff in California filming content and playing with his playmate Lauren just last weekend from Sat to Wed.
Hehe, you almost have to feel bad for other player at the events like Grubby, Lucifron, Thorzain etc. :D Also players like Incontrol & Idra etc. who get so much shit for being "bad" at the game, yet they practices more than Stephano and he just rapes them ez.
Guess i can see why some ppl don't want him to act like that, especially when he so talented and don't practice. When other people practices so much more and have a passion for the game and Esports, like Grubby etc..
So I can see why some people percive him as an arrogant ass.
I can virtually guarantee the stephano doesn't practice is an exaggerated myth that gets spread because of stephano's image.
Well I don't think people thinks he never practices, atleast thats not what I think. Surely he plays the game & practices! But from what a lot of people say, like Bling, Rotterdam and Stephano himself. It does not looks like he practices anywere near 8 hours or anything like that. Yet beats everyone easy, even Koreans like MC, HerO, Taeja and 99% of every foreigners. Most people he beats probably trains a lot more than Stephano.
Stephano kinda looks like an foreigner Stork or something.
What the fuck ? Stephano beats Taeja, MC and Hero easy ? Really ? I hope WCS world will open fanboys eyes. Stephano is good, maybe the best foreign player. But he's just another foreigner for Top Korean players.
That's so not true. He's one of the best zerg there is period, after DRG and maybe curious and symbol, maybe them.
And Life, Hyun, Leenock, Violet, Cocoa, Sniper, and Lucky.
Not to mention a bunch of Kespa Zergs that will be Code S level very soon-- Roro/effort/hero etc.
Lucky proved that by getting outplayed 4-0 at IPL3! You are a funny guy.

As for Revel8, go read some of my posts. I fully support many foreign players such as Grubby for his passion and modesty and Naniwa & Mana for their dedication by going to Korea.
Stephano will go to GSL next year. I expect when that happens you'll still be shit-talking him. If you actually gave any credit to achievements in SC2 you would not bash Stephano. It is that simple. He is incredibly good for the SC2 scene. Helping bringing in viewers at this stage of the development of SC2 could be crucial in helping the long-term viability of the scene. He inspires lots of players around the world that Foreigners can be successful at this SC2 thing. 100,000 people watched that victory. Why on earth would you complain about that unless you have some sort of malicious agenda? It is almost like you resent SC2 being popular globally.
Wrong, I resent this kind of attitude:
- "I've already won" before the grand final even begun - "More money in my bank account" - "I gave him the first set to make him think he could win" after winning
Now close your eyes and put yourself in Vortix's shoes...doesn't that make you want to punch him in the face if someone said that to you? This isn't how a human being should act. And to think that this kind of personality is actually being embraced by a portion of the community is sickening. Look at Grubby and the way he even shakes someones hand before and after matches, you can see the real sincerity of the guy, and when hundreds and thousands of eyes on you, and sponsors are on the line, people should act professional and with good manners.
You don't have to like his personality. Do you also complain when all those GSL Finalists predict they will win 4-0? I bet you don't shit-talk MC for being extremely confident in his statements.
Your problem is you constantly belittle Stephano's achievements in SC2. By doing so you are also belittling the abilities of all those players he has beaten in these tournaments. You are also trashing the achievements of all those Foreign players who have achieved less at this time than Stephano.
Numerous Korean pro-gamers have heaped accolades onto Stephano for his achievements and abilities. Only someone with an agenda would presume to pretend they know better than the likes of Polt, MC, Nestea, Symbol and Jaedong with regards to Stephano's abilities.
As Mock would say, if there was a tournament for bitterness you would be the one with a cheque for $24,000 dancing with a hot chick.
You're drawing a false equivalency there. MC and others do their trashtalking/showboating before the game, not after it. You can be as brash as you want, it adds hype or whatever. Denigrating your opponent's efforts after you beat him (i.e without needing to hype it after-the-fact) is just a dick move.
Stephano only properly trash talks foreigners as well, interestingly. My personal theory behind this is that it is a mindgame, he's already the top foreign player and anyone going in will feel nervous and he's trying to take them further out of their comfort zone.
I don't think Stephano's particularly obnoxious on the whole I usually find him endearing enough, but I didn't like that attitude displayed post-final one bit.
It's part of an act though. Have you ever seen any Korean pro-gamer have any issue with Stephano at all? Naniwa has fallen out with a couple. Stephano seems to be like Huk where all the Koreans he has personally encountered seem to like him. If he was actually a dick then this would not be the case.
Stephano has a playful jokey and sarcastic personality. GoGo Pick Power Ranger is just a bit of quirky fun. People seem to (wilfully) misinterpret Stephano as being straight up. His statements about giving false hope to Vortix were in response to Rachel's question about the Final not being so easy as predicted. Stephano pretended that losing the first series was part of his plan. Obviously this was a joke. He was smiling when he said it. He always jokes around when being interviewed by Rachel. In fact the entire money 'to the bank' meme dates back to Rachel interviewing Stephano immediately after him winning IPL3. Rachel asked him where will those skills take you after winning all that money and he responded 'to the bank', which was quite droll and everyone laughed. So he has still continued that whole 'to the bank' line. And there is nothing wrong with trying to accumulate money. Every tournament uses money as an incentive to attract players. Money is the reason why MMA, Crank, San etc want to join Foreign teams. Are they mercenaries too? And what is actually wrong with trying to get paid anyway? I think the vast majority of people work for the pay-check they get in compensation for their efforts. It is a professional gaming scene after all - implies gamers getting paid!
I don't have an issue with people disliking his personality. That's personal choice and Stephano DOES have a personality which is more extravert than most pro-gamers so it stands out more.
What I dislike is certain posters who profess to not care about Foreign results at all invade this thread which was celebrating a triumph of a Foreign Tourney and then trash talk Stephano's abilities because they cannot accept that Stephano is actually very talented at this SC2 lark. It just reeks of bitterness.
I suspect some people made bold predictions about Stephano when he was emerging and these turned out wrong. Instead of acknowledging they may have misjudged how good he would become, they are just ignoring reality and attempting to belittle his results in order to avoid admitting they were wrong. You have even got some jokers, in an attempt to belittle Stephano's abilities, claim that Lucky is better than him! Even Lucky doesn't think that, especially after IPL3.
I know some people don't like 'rabid fanboys' because they go large on the hyperbole but equally you cannot ignore Stephano is a world class Zerg. The results prove it.

Excellent post. His attitude is misunderstood by some (maybe they don't want to take his bold and arrogant statements for what they truly are, an act from a showman). Stephano has evolved into a giant troll basically.
You also have to understand where he started from. I remember, once a friend told me he met him at an offline event in France (Max Lan if I recall correctly). At that time Stephano was really shy and humble. To give you an example my friend asked Stephano some advice on a replay and Stephano asked him if he could touch his mouse and keyboard to give him advice. He also added that Stephano did not seem that confident back then. In addition Stephano seems to be really appreciated (and respected) by most of the pro-gamer scene, which mean they also understand that all this is an act and I am sure Stephano gives the respect his opponents deserve.
I also saw an OSL game recently where a KESPA player (cannot recall his name) beat an ESF player (possibly Oz) and then did an elaborate dish-washing ceremony. That was funny. Yeah, it was an attempt to poke fun at his opponent and give out some humiliation. It was a joke though, and no-one posted complaints whining about such arrogance here on TL. Stephano jokingly pretends he lost a series as part of his cunning master-plan and some people amusingly think he was being serious and really did it to taunt his opponent! The mind boggles.

Will they release the replays? I swear the lack of replays from events is killing e-sports for me. I don't want to watch VODs with uninformed casters, I want to be able to analyse the games myself >_>
Here's a very nice HUMBLE interview that some of the idiots posting after his win should watch.. where he gives his real thoughts. Also nice for real fans:
His troll act makes it more interesting for the scene. It just ruins the LR threads unfortunately.
