Hyuk is a practice bonjwa known for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. He will randomly beat players like Flash and Jaedong in the most unexpected moments and in the most unimpressive manner from time to time, though.
Bisu treating GSL like OSL, I guess. At least he wasn't hydra busted by a no name zerg this time.

Holy Terran. BISUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU .

Terious lost to Bisu!
Does that mean Bisu is as good as Scarlett now?
Seems the only real upset so far is BaBy > YongHwa, but can we call it an upset since it happens in Code A prelim, where YongHwa's failure is borderline legendary now?
Check over CranK is a mini upset I guess.
And who the heck is LucyPrime??! He took out Ready and lost to Dream in final.

He got to the finals too. Damn. At least we know he has improved a ton. Last is one of the best players in the prelims too. So unlucky. At least he tore up zerg.

bisu will never make code a, causing his fans to shed an ocean of tears Also, wonder how kespa feels seeing that ´their´ players have qualified 5 out of 11 on the first day? All of their hand-wringing may have been for naught.
also, kinda sad carn couldn´t even beat hyuk in a code b bracket. Hasn´t the guy been in korea for nearly two years at this point?? It feels like he´s been there that long but would love to be corrected if wrong. Gotta admire his dedication but there simply aren´t any results.

Their sheer number pushed alot people through. The ones made it didn't face any high level code B player except BaBy over YongHwa, whose purpose of existence seems to be all kill in team league and fail in Code A prelim.
Lots of elephant on elephant action today.

Hopefully Seal makes it through tomorrow, sad enough that sculp got knocked out early today.

Typical Bisu, no surprise.

Both First and Last making it made me chuckle :p Aslo, more Terrans
And there was a guy called Uranus in the groups. Oh, the puns we missed due to him now qualifying....

Mah... not as good as Fantasy / Reality...

Looking at the brackets it seems like Kespa won the brackets where its big names participated in. The general consensus seems to be that the lower A team players of Kespa leagues is still merely code B material

5 out of 11, I think KeSPA will be happy about that. At least this shows on average they are a little better than code B players. Code A is their current skill level.

Hyuk's skill level is actually pretty good. Don't know why he can't win big games. He could be one of the zerg one hit wonders, but luck didn't follow him.

I am not sure about that. Since I think actually eSF teams had slightly less players in the groups (there were quite a few teamless ex oGs players and such). And the results were 50-50. So the 'average' of Kespa players are actually Code B level. But as I had said before, the difference between code S, A, B are actually quite slim. Especially in a Bo3 format where you don't know you opponent before hand.

Only if KESPA players can advance 10+ to Code S, we can claim that KESPA has already keep up with GSL. These KESPA players (except for 6 seed players) were playing with Code B players and can only advance less than 50%.

Put all code S and code A players into prelim, they also can only advance less than 50%. You really underestimate the code B skill level.

Well if you put all Code S and Code A player into prelim, there won't be many Code B player there and far less than 50% could advance.
Looking at the bracket, most players beat those they suppose to beat and lost to those they suppose to lose to, not alot upset this time.

Btw Lucy (Jo Ji Hyun) is the new Prime member. He is younger then Creator and made to the finals at first attempt and lost in a close series 2-1 to MVP.Dream (who won all his previous matches 2-0). Just want to say you guys that you should watch for him at GSTL and IPTL and other korean events and prelims, we have the new star rising.

Wow that's nice! finally some new / young blood (Salmosa / AriA give them some depth beyond 5, but no one really expect alot from them). I thought it was someone from Prime clan (not the team).
