Well, if warhounds are good at tanking for the mech army, then tanks actually becomes very good. One of the problems with mech in TvP was that hellions weren't really good at tanking vs chargelots. Tanks are similiar to colossi and broodlords. Good siege units but they need support.

We had some bad BW games in OSLs as well (even before the last OSL when players were switching). E-sports is no different from other sports. You see awful soccer and basketball games from good teams as well.

I think the Battle Hellion is more meant to fill the tanking role. Besides, I have the feeling that the Warhound is going to be overhauled considerably before HotS goes live. It's just got too ill-defined a role right now.

Even if the actual matches themselves were a bit subpar, the players were for the most part top contenders. Except for Creator and maybe Nova, these are players people expect to lose ;\

Cool =P Code A will always have bad play. Willing to bet on this. Much lower chance of really having 'great' play in the U/D when it's full of people that have lost =P

How can you really have 'great' play in the U/D when it's full of people that have lost =P the relative skill level of code a/updowns is going to get higher if we get more good players in here and replace the worse ones ![]()

The problem wasn't only the chargelots but also immortals. Thats the whole reason for warhound - it's supposed to be the mech counter leaving no need for ghosts. The obvious issue is that if warhound fights immortals cost-efficiently then chances are it will be so good it will trade better than tanks with everything else.

Tanks still might not have the right stats to be useful. If you look at the current stats of the warhound, that's how big the bandaid is for this matchup. It's a 2 food unit with like 215/225 HP! The thing with tanks and bio in TvZ is that the similarly low HP of the vast majority of the Z army means that they can trade fairly evenly. Even if your bio/tanks gets coated with fungals and banes, they can output enough DPS before they die such that it will be even. Point is that tanks are balanced against essentially one shotting low HP zerg units at range. You can kinda see how this doesn't hold true against late game P. What would tanks be good at trading against vs P? Practically everything is better handled by WH and BH.
