You can only save up larvae if you don't have to spend them. Replacing drones (due to drops), hit and run attacks, big engagements etc, all force to spend larvae. Hence my statement about applying pressure to stop larvae saving.. Now it goes without saying that this is not a solution, but its a direct result; no pressure is saving up larvae.
