Those were pretty much serious flight sims, masked in a Star Wars skin, great games and they had the kind of complexity and nuanced gameplay that you just don't see anymore from Star Was games in general best game ever, and so fucking hard

There are a lot of people out there that thinks computer games are stupid unnecesary and hurting hobby - you are one of them, you just focus on one game, instead of many. I hated BW elitism, I guess there are a lot of dickheads in SC2 community too. This is so tiring to hear all the time. It ain't elitism, it's just that the games like LoL attract a lot of dislike due to the way they're designed, marketed and forced into a competitive format for marketing reasons alone. You almost never see "elitism" towards Quake, CS, fighting games and other games that actually evolved a competitive scene organically without having millions of dollars dumped into it for that specific purpose.

I don't know how they can sustain with this quality of their show and keep the big money investors happy. A lot has been covered by Bitterdam, but with them missing the whole show is just making me sad. Would not be sad if these tournaments actually stopped being broadcasted. X marks the spot

It seems very likely he actually plays moba games then, and same applies for me. I love Dota and Dota 2 and follow the scenes. Also HoN is a really good game too, and I actually think LoL is a pretty decent game too but I still consider it to be the worst - atleast for competive play. The learning curve is very small and it is very easy to learn so it is pretty obvious it is aimed for casual gamers which is fine. But yes, you are of course right about this is all a matter of taste, and people shouldn't be flamed for liking one or another game. But just because you dislike LoL doesn't not mean you only focus on one game. Yeah, I mean this is part of the reason I don't care about how big LoL is. Its competitive scene is bizarrely large considering it's the easiest/least skillful MOBA according to my friends who play it. Hating on LoL is as irrational as hating on football for being big, it's catering to a different audience entirely, and for me those who are quitting SC for LoL are really no loss to our game/scene

I don't know, I haven't been a part of the community for a long while. But all internet communities I've ever seen have reached a boiling point where it just devolves into random hatred, flaming and whining. Trolls take over, and level-headed people who could have a positive impact give up and abandon the sinking ship. A bit off-topic though. There are still a ton of wonderful Starcraft to talk about today. I really hope to see some great performances by Nestea today ![]()

X-Wing and Tie-Fighter managed it somehow, the problem now is these kind of games tend to be pretty arcadey. It was the gameplay depth and of course the awesomeness of being Star Wars that helped those games overcome the inherent problem of being set in a void
