I'm going to guess MC didn't arrive into Korea until this morning? So ffs >.< he is going to lose. Why doesn't GOM help the players that go away to foreign events!! They could of easily switched the games around with this group of 4 playing Weds and the others Today. So annoying >.<

Taeja has potential to go down a similar route. If he can make his standard the best Terran standard in the world then he could be the MVP of 2012. It's a long road, though, and beating MC would only be the first step.
I never understood why people thought MVP's play was generic actually. He has shown plenty of innovative builds to win his GSLs, it's not like he 1 rax CC'd every game. He's always the one that comes up with the most abusive bunker placements, he was the first to show mass ghosts vs Zerg in high level play as far as I know, everyone knows MVP at his best is one of the greatest multitaskers in the game, just a few examples of what makes him stand out.
probably cos korean terrans were performing so well then that he was just another (this plagues a lot of terrans e.g. for those who don't follow the scene, supernova, forgg, noblesse, yoda, hack, asd are all "just another good korean terran") plus players like bomber, mma, mkp are a bit more flashy than mvp i think
What game was it, where Mvp did a massive thor/tank/ghost doom drop in the main and launched 3 or 5 nukes to keep his opponent's army out in a TvT on Daybreak?
Pretty fucking flashy when he cares to be.
I'm also pretty sure most Terran builds have, in some way, been affected or determined by Mvp.

As someone quite sensitive to criticism of my favorite SC2 player, I can't recall MVP ever accused of playing generic. The very reason Artosis nicknamed him the game genie terran was because he could play and excel with any style. Sure MMA and MKP got a lot more love but everyone respected MVP's skills. The thing that made MVP 'boring' was his personality. Never too happy, never too sad, always just sitting there with that slightly bored open mouth look of his as he smashed another weakling into the ground and raising his fake checks with a 'been there, done that' nonchalance.

Byun was actually the first person to use mass ghosts late game TvZ in Code S.
Wasn't it more for EMPs than snipe though? I don't really remember, do you have the reference for the game?

I'm pretty sure that game was in the 2011 August GSL finals vs oGsTOP

I'm not one to be a blind TL fan and hipster, nor I like Taeja particularly, but you gotta admit that the guy is solid. He does well in everything he enters recently, winning qualifiers and all killing teams left and right. Definitely top 3 Terrans in the world atm, one of the only ones who seem to be good in all 3 matchups.
Taeja is good but I'm just not entirely convinced of his play. I am having trouble describing what I think of it, though.
I suppose I feel that he tends to "coast" through games: he is not particularly aggressive or defensive, he doesn't do interesting builds very often, he doesn't have one part of his games that stands out (MMA and his drops, MKP and his micro, Mvp and his game sense, etc), and his game seems to lack any personality for me. He still wins a lot though, which is awesome, but I find his play so... generic? Man what an ambiguous opinion.
Ya he doesn't stand out as much.
Taeja playstyle is like Curious just Terran version. Generic and boring but solid overall.
However, unlike Curious Taeja isn't terribly inconsistent.
Hopefully he doesn't end up a jjakji (one hit wonder, sorry jjakji fans)
jjakji is still very good; probably performing better than, say, MMA or Bomber atm
I respectfully disagree. Jjakji is not performing better than MMA. Jjakji's last major tournament win was IPL Tournament of Champions, where he did kick ass, and got a paid trip to IPL...where he was put in the same group as MMA and was defeated and eliminated there. MMA went on to get 4th.
Since then, MMA has also won Iron Squid.
They are both in the Ro32 for Code A, and both are "slumping", but you can't say that Jjakji is doing better than MMA when he hasn't made a deep Code S run since late 2011 and hasn't won a live event in 8 months. I guess the only thing Jjakji is doing better than MMA right now is the GSTL, though.
Is Jjakji doing better than Bomber? Once again, very hard to say, but that's a lot easier sell than MMA.
Best tvt ever imo. I also never got why people found MVP generic. He always seemed to have a healthy assortment of different builds if anything. He was just never really aggressive outside of TvP (usually preferred all-ins in this mu), and instead was very macro-oriented and methodical. Guess people preferred the more flashy aggression of MMA and MKP. *shrug*
Hey Seeker... You're a hero man. Don't let them get in your head. I'm loving each and every LR you've done, because (after RO8) it's filled with small but cute details drastically increasing the hype levels. The original post of the LR thread usually gets my addicted nature at the hell of :50 to :10 when the games start (can't stand K-pop!!).
Much love and appreciation, you don't have to apologize for noone.
