watch when taeja gets rocked tonight and all the liquid fanboys start crying protoss imba Well first I think it's pretty hard to predict who will win this, both players have had pretty good results recently, both of them able to be sometimes invincible, sometimes derping a bit. Imo MC should be slightly favored over Taeja, but it's not that obvious. There may be a slight TL bias for the team players but I think the TL terran bias has more influence. However it's counterbalanced by the huge amount of fans MC has. I thought no one was going to MC a chance. He's coming back from HSC to face someone who has been the definition of monster the last few weeks. MC's has always seemed like a player that would never make it super far into the GSL ever again (as in past the quarter final) because players can easily counter him. I don't know though - MC is the July of Protoss - you should never count him out.
But Taeja is really good.

When Stephano was considered the best ZvP and nobody knew how to beat 3 hatch, Seed destroyed Stephano on stream 3 times. His PvZ not many know this, but is f'ng sick. I predict 3-2 Seed winning Taeja is overhyped because he's from TL. i think it'll depend on what MC does. 3-2 MC winning if he picks good builds.

I enjoyed the written player intro.

He does well in everything he enters recently, winning qualifiers and all killing teams left and right. Definitely top 3 Terrans in the world atm, one of the only ones who seem to be good in all 3 matchups.

Taeja is good but I'm just not entirely convinced of his play. I am having trouble describing what I think of it, though.
I suppose I feel that he tends to "coast" through games: he is not particularly aggressive or defensive, he doesn't do interesting builds very often, he doesn't have one part of his games that stands out (MMA and his drops, MKP and his micro, Mvp and his game sense, etc), and his game seems to lack any personality for me. He still wins a lot though, which is awesome, but I find his play so... generic? Man what an ambiguous opinion.

I lol'd. It might be easy for TaeJa, I mean he did all-kill Prime in IPL TAC3 two weeks ago (including MKP, Maru, and Creator on their roster)... That and he made it out of his second group instead of Mvp.

I agree, I don't watch as much of him as some so maybe I'm wrong, but he seems very predictable, always FE, always very macro orientated, I have a feeling MC will mix things up and he will struggle but I hope not
I hate "generic" as a term as he's extremely skilled and it seems almost like a diss, but I feel like he could be picked apart, but we'll see.

Ya he doesn't stand out as much.
Taeja playstyle is like Curious just Terran version. Generic and boring but solid overall.

I also agree that Taeja's play is very generic. Kinda like aLive's, albeit with more micro (remember that one game we discovered that aLive could in fact split his marines and not just stim and run away from banelings? :D). Maybe that's what it takes to win currently, flashy styles like MMA or MKP's don't seem to do them well atm.

The last ro8 MC lost to was Genius in a pvp. Now MC has a chance to show off his pvt in a best of 5. He destroyed bomber in red bull who 3-0'd squirtle so his pvt is still the best. Parting and squirtle both have specific pvts while MC can do any style of pvt

However, unlike Curious Taeja isn't terribly inconsistent.

Hmmm, understand that the OP is not about you. I'm not sure why you decided it's necessary to write five or six lines about yourself and how you do the LR threads before the results section, arguably the most important section of the entire thread.
I don't mind the spiel you wrote about the players, no, really. Personally I don't like it but it's your thread and you can do what you want. But I really really really recommend you keep personal rants out of a Code S Ro8 LR thread. This is a celebration of the players, lets not muddy it up.

MVP had very few fans a while ago because people thought of him as generic. The reason he was so standard was because he basically set the bar for what Terran standard play actually was. Now he has a few more because of the Terran hope concept in the last GSL and his "never count me out" feel nowadays.
Taeja has potential to go down a similar route. If he can make his standard the best Terran standard in the world then he could be the MVP of 2012. It's a long road, though, and beating MC would only be the first step.

I feel that today there should be at least 1 option in all-caps for every poll in the recommended games section.
