I didn't watch IEM Puma won the first game with a 1-1-1 on Xel Naga Cavern, then MC opened with some blink aggression on Terminous, got a decent lead if I recall, then when the big engagement hit (MC was templar heavy, Puma had ghosts), EMPs killed MC's army. Finally MC opened with phoenix harass and hidden expo on metalopolis, but he base-raced Puma's 1-1-1. Terran buildings could float, and Puma had the better army left, so MC's hidden expo was eventually found and Puma won IEM Cologne. Those were very general recaps, since the games were so long ago, but basically the threat of the 1-1-1 forced MC to go unconventional strategies such as phoenix harass and sneaking hidden expos.

DRG pushes through with roaches and the unit that is a strong support unit for roaches against other roaches. Intense game 2 coming up here. I've played SC2 since release and I think there's a reasonable chance we're going to see roaches.

If I didnt know that was Nestea Id say it was definately not nestea playing The great thing about Nestea's style is that it's tailored to his opponent. He thought he could bust DRG with a late-ish roach timing because DRG plays somewhat greedily, going to 60 drones, +2 and infestor tech all behind just a couple spines and a low-ish roach count. The early-ish attack from Nestea before his roach advantage kicked in gave his plan away, however, and so DRG didn't build any infestors. Really smart play from both, just in really subtle ways.

Second game on Terminus, MC completely outplayed him but because Ghosts back then had radius 2 (basically 1.5 times the area that they do now), Puma rolled over the Protoss army without breaking a sweat. Then in game 3 on close air Metalopolis, Puma 1-1-1ed, MC did a blind Phoenix/DT counter build (that dies to any mass barracks play) with a base race and still lost. Luckily the two things that broke the game (small maps and EMP radius 2) are now fixed. Would it be the worst thing if EMP was changed back? Late game PvT is just equally ridiciulous for Protoss now as it was for Terran then.
