Yea - this has been a long time coming. Terrans have been lazy in not working out more viable strats/builds/styles.

MMMVG is reactive - and most terrans don't scout enough to react correctly to build the right army composition to counter a protoss tech-switch (which Toss is able to do instantaneously once they set up their 3/4 bases + double robo etc. )




I still believe mech is the answer. Thors/siege tanks plus hellions to harass probe lines.

Now if only Blizz made tanks more like their BW counterparts....

Tanks that are garbage compared to their BW counterparts and the absence of spider mines means mech is pretty much unviable as a standard composition. Sure, throw in a mech game to catch ur opponet off guard, but if it ever became standard, protoss will know that the lack of spider mines means that they can just either use blink stalkers and/or warp prisms to abuse mobility like hell whilst mass expanding (placing 2 cannons per base to prevent BFH hellions) and terran cant do shit.
MMMVG is the only answer till HoTs till shredders come out and give back terran "spider mines" like board control.


Honestly I think a lot could be fixed by buffing tanks a little. The biggest issue seems to be that Zealots just get in amongst tanks way too easily with Terran not able to do much about it.

Seriously...a whine balance? After the Terran clumped his Vikings directly over Archons and Stalkers and then got himself jammed into a choke point against mass colossi?

I fail to see what control Puzzle showed there, and what was Sting supposed to do, my friend?You can't really expect him to kite with his bio and kite with the vikings at the same time compared to what puzzle had to do, right?


His control was better than Sting's because he didn't have his Colossi standing on top of the Marines and didn't have his Archons at the back; which is basically the Protoss equivalent of what Sting was doing.

And what was Sting supposed to do? Well not derping his entire Viking force directly over Archons, attack from the side or something, and not standing in a choke point would be a good start. I'm pretty sure even I could manage that and I'm a Gold scrub.

If sitting Vikings on top of Archons is seriously "pro terran play" nowadays then no wonder people keep dying to Protoss. Here's a tip: don't do it and you won't lose them all instantly.


If you have a working brain you should be able to understand. It's the GSL and he has 3 games on the stage, his nice showings are online, he's still KR masters and you're not, etc. etc.

T had to in a split second determine whether he wanted to 1) focus fire colossi and die or 2) spread vikings and die, since T was so far behind anyways.

Sure, if 'mech' means only making tanks. Zealots aren't the issue with mech at all.

As mentioned in the quoted post, the mobility of terran mech is the major issue. Requires fantastic placement of sensor towers and smart reactions to an army that tries to go around yours. It's thus very map specific, but it definitely can work.

Not sure about at the GSL level. Seems to work well in Masters level from the guides I've seen though.
