Lol, its silly how u guys talkin about imbalance in ZXP and just forget how awesome Symbol outplayed MC. I mean, he countered MC`s tatic perfectly, while the boss president was really blind in both games: fast colossus third base against mass drop, and void ray play against hum.. hidras?

So...

A hungover Stephano vs an ill Violet.

Let's see which is more debilitated.

Yeah you do because your logic is awful and full of fallacy.

Please expand, because from my point of view, it seem as if you are just happy to be flied there and get paid by MLG.

Ha, is that why Stephano's supposedly wearing the sunglasses? He's such a troll. I'm not sure I believe it though. Go Stephano!

Seriously, why do you guys hate ZXZ and say it`s boring?

I honestly don`t get it. ZXZ is probably the most intense matchup of the whole game. Early game is based on pure micro. The best one with the best micro wins, simply as that. It`s not based on luck (some say it is, but in fact it is not if you scout properly) but on your own skills. I love ling / baneling fights, the decision making of each player to see how they can maximize the damage and stuff like that.

Mid game you need to find the balance between units and drones, really awesome again to see the decision making. What about mid-late game? Infestors play is AWESOME, and it`s even better when there are INFESTORS DROP or INFESTORS BURROWED, if you guys haven`t see that, give it a shot, It`s awesome and I hope we can see some infestor heavily playstyle!

ZXZ in a spectator point of view is just perfect. I`m not zerg and I`m high master terran.

easy: because there are no flashy units! No tanks shelling explosions everywhere, no colossi/stalker shooting lasers. no marauder shooting exploding rockets like the madmen they are, no zealots fighting with blades of light! :o
Besides, ZvZ is the most volatile matchup, that is if you believe the Playhem statistic as a good representation of the state of the game.

hahahaha that is kinda a good point, but still.. i think zxz is the least "gay" matchup possible.... i still think its skill based purely

Dunno, the number of drones you get is still an advanced guessing game, right?

I'm curious if you're saying that as a zerg player or not, because in all of my ZvZ experience its pretty much exclusively luck based.

Im high master terran, although I play zerg sometimes and I think its mid master level.. And how come you say its "exclusively luck"? That seems a little bit arrogant, honestly. You can scout properly now with the overlord speed and even before it was just fine.. I mean, if you`re 15 hatch and he`s going 10 pool, sure, you may be behind, but its not like its IMPOSSIBLE to beat that, I`ve seen players like TSL Ryun dominating a guy who went 10 pool.. And Ryun went 15 hatch 17 pool..

Theres also at any given point in the game the "I droned up, oh look he made some lings/roaches well this has been fun". Of course you can scout basic things (tech structures/base count/ect) but unless youre giving up massive amounts of overlords you arent going to know just how many units theyve been making. Then theres like you said early game build order wins (to which there are almost too many options)

Zerg is always about unit/drones and Infestor play. Not just in ZvZ.
Its not totally luck based, mostly the ling/baneling part. In general there is not much variation in the ZvZ gameplay. The only question is if someones goes muta or not.
I like that the matchup is action-heavy, but from a strategical point its the least interesting.

dno, i think pvp is still shit. and tvt isn't as interesting anymore.

as a toss, i hate vs any zerg.

Roaches are the most cost effective unit in the game. you can get so many out in very little time. As much as terran hates toss late game, toss hates zergs period. at least a terran can win mid game, toss can't win early, mid, or late game vs zerg.

Roaches are extremely supply inefficient, I love it when I see zergs going roaches - they are only decent for a limited amount of time until protoss get his super army out.

are you gold??? they can max out on roaches in just over 10 mins, even if you cut probe production you can't be over 140 supply with gateway units, less if your techin to collos.

supply inefficient?? you seriously haven't played much.. or in a low league

Really?
So you can "pick and choose" when you want to help esports?
You are a true crusader for starcraft 2!

Anyone paying 20 dollar for this, is indirectly hurting e-sports.

could you please explain that "logic"

How much exposure does mlg arenas get compared to dreamhack? How many viewers? How many NEW viewers? I doubt i need to go any further with this.

Um, thats what all the free events are for....

The 20 dollars you give supports MLG and the actual players, because it = more money to compete for. Seems simple enough.

The Arena's are an essential part of the MLG circuit, as they determine the seedings of the championship. They are by no means "EXTRA". Please do not try to put it onto the same level as the Arena of Legends, which was only there to please the fans, without great price pool and also - due to being invite only - without much legitimacy of competitiveness.

The seedings for the championship is the ONLY reason you have to justify that and while I don't agree with the fact that it provides seeding and have said so in the past, that does not mean the events are not extra. They certainly are, they would not happen otherwise, it's too expensive to fly 32 players over with full room and board, especially since many of them are Korean,. which is why no other free-view tournament actually does that.

MLG also saves a decent amount by not making it a full-on event and keeping it at their HQ. No venue, less staff, less setup, less equipment, no travel expenses for their staff (aside from you fine gentlemen), etc... etc...

You know how they could really save, make them online tournaments, like every other league does for a qualifier. Then you don't have to charge 20 bucks to fly everyone in especially when you aren't hosting an event that people can come spectate and advertisers can show up.

They would make plenty of money with a free stream and advertisements, and not spend all that cash on hotels/flights/ect...

Cross server play is rather brutal at times...

But considering we still dont have LAN (BLIZZARD) there is no major difference between online tournies and private events for the most part.

you can check drone counts at expansions with an OL on a lot of maps. or send in a single speedling. The intel is there to make the right decisions if you're persistent about it.
i was driving down the road this november eve and spotted a hitchhiker walking down the street. i pulled over and saw that it was only a tree. i uprooted it and put it in my trunk. do trees like marshmallow peeps? cause that's all i have and will have.

I think the problem a lot of people have is just that early game ZvZ is rediculously fragile. Ling/baneling wars for 3-4 mins is cool and takes a ton of skill but it can often be over too fast for some people to really appreciate what happened. It's a great way to see who really thrives in a low econ setting and I like it but i understand why some people don't.

ZvZ midgame is boring as hell to me though, roach hydra infestor vs roach hydra infestor, and if the infestor count gets high enough you can't see anything because every unit is covered in fungal growth. It's not that there isn't an art to knowing when to tech and the exact right number of what units to have in your composition but the outcome on the screen is rarely fun to look at. Muta battles when they happen are pretty cool though ( God I miss scourge though).
