Jinro vs ClouD is a good match.
gl TL.
|
Jinro 2-1 ClouD Zenio 2-0 DarkForce Sheth 2-1 Delphi TaeJa 2-1 Socke
Err, I don't know much about Delphi and Socke (in PvT)
|
|
Jinro 0-2 ClouD Zenio 1-2 DarkForce Sheth 2-1 Delphi TaeJa 2-0 Socke
ace TLO 2-0 Cloud
|
I tink aTn have a really good shot at this, gonna go with 3-1 for aTn
|
For games 2 and 3 of Jinro vs ClouD, Jinro is listed as Zerg.
Anyways, for my predictions:
Jinro 2-1 ClouD Zenio 2-1 DarKFoRcE Sheth 2-1 Delphi TaeJa 2-0 Socke
Liquid bias much? I think so!
|
Jinro 2-1 Zenio 2-0 Sheth 2-0 Taeja 2-1
liquid 4-0. I just think think liquid is too strong for ATN.
|
Jinro 1-2 Cloud ( i have not seen much from Jinro and Cloud has been doing good lately) Zenio 1-2 DarKFoRcE ( its zvz so could go either way but DarKFoRcE zvz is really good) Sheth 2-0 Delphi ( i like Delphi but Sheth has been looking real good as of lates) Taeja 2-1 Socke ( this could go either way but Taeja has been on fire lately i could see Socke win if he plays like huk when he beat Taeja last week he as been haveing trouble vs toss as of late)
ace: Taeja or Zenio vs Socke if its Taeja 2-1 if its Zenio it will be a tough one to call. wish liquid would use hero in ace but since we is in semi in gsl i do not think they will use him in ace.

Zenio's vZ is also pretty good.

Cloud and DF have a decent at forcing the ace match.

TL got all the matchups they could want. I'm seeing a 4-0.
|
I see Delphi and Cloud winning.
|
Cloud 2-0 Jinro Darkforce 1-2 Zenio Delphi 1-2 Sheth Socke 0-2 Taeja
edit: Upset watches are Zenio because he's been inconsistent lately, although ZvZ is a strongpoint. Delphi is an uncertainty for sure, I've only seen a few games but I think he's not bad at all. I think Taeja should take it easily against Socke, meaning no disrespect to Socke (who's impressed me) but Taeja is very strong. Although PvT has been swinging the other way lately.
|
|
3-1
Don't see Jinro winning a game..
|
wow, im really pumped for taeja vs socke.
but its probably gonna be a slaughter nonetheless.
|
only Taeja vs Socke should be onesided
|
Imagine being Socke now >.< dat panic attack when you see you're playing Taeja T_T
|
Ace TLO-Cloud would be nice, considering the grudge match they plan. But probably won't happen.
|
The roster of aTn is pretty strong, but I don't understand why they always sort of "underperform" in team leagues (they've been knocked out of 4 IPL TAC qualifiers already, and the teams there can't compete with EGMC in term of strength). I feel like this time will be no different. Probably 4-0 or 3-1 in favor of Liquid.
|
Well zenio can definetly choke and jinro could lose to cloud, but otherwise, no way TL loses!
|
I´m so excited for this!
IMO atn can win this. Clould will beat Jinro, Darkforce zvz is really good, and Delphi has some nice all ins in zvz. :D And Socke vs Teaja will be at leat good to watch.
|
Taeja and Cloud are fairly good locks for a win.
I'd favour Liquid in both ZvZ's and Taeja over anyone in an ace match so imo 3-1 Liquid. The ZvZ's will be crucial for aTn.
|
|
4-0 Team Liquid. Jinro won't lose a TvT.

Well they are only 4 players. So they have to play no matter in what condition they are. I guess thats part of the reason. Liquid is a powerhouse, so I think 3-1 as well.

Ah, I see. If they have only 4 players, then this is pretty understandable. Hope they can recruit some more soon

This should be an enjoyable, close match. Cloud over Jinro 2-1 Darkforce over Zenio 2-1 Sheth!!!! over Delphi 2-1 Taeja over Socke 2-0 Ace match: Sheth over Socke 2-1
OK, I actually think Jinro will win 2-1, but I think this series is going to be super close and so I made the prediction in cloud's favor in hopes of an ace match.
2 ZvZs so anything can happen and while socke's pretty good at PvT, Taeja is a beast in that matchup.
Gogo Liquid!
|
i wish these threads had liquipedia links... would save a lot of hassle
|
Cloud 2-1 Jinro Darkforce 1-2 Zenio Delphi 2-1 Sheth (if they switch servers, if it is purely NA, Sheth wins) Socke 0-2 Taeja
Ace: Taeja wins against someone.
Probably I am a bit aTn-biased but I think, if DF can beat Zenio, they have a really good chance, to take this.
|
On May 07 2012 23:33 Kahlgar wrote: only Taeja vs Socke should be onesided I don't think so. Taejas weakest matchup is vP, Socke has been strong vT (beating TheSTC, Puma). Taeja is still the favourite, but onesided? no.

Cloud 2-1 Jinro (Not gegen Elend) Darkforce 1-2 Zenio (Can go either way) Delphi 1-2 Sheth (Can go either way) Socke 1-2 Taeja
Hoping for an ace match tho.

I think ClouD and DF have a good shot on winning their matches and Delphi has some pretty nice tactics in ZvZ (Delphi-Donk-Allin), so they couldt win this. But ther performances in teamleagues were not that good so far, so I don´t give them much chance TT
|
I see Cloud beating Jinro, but hopefully the rest of TL winning. Good matches all-around though! 3-1 TL I think

What leads you to say that? Taeja has always looked strong vP in all the matches I've watched of his and his win rate vs them is definitely not his lowest (65% in korea, 70% in foreign tourneys)
|
aTn and mTw should join forces, two teams with unrealized potential partly due to their size.
not that it would ever happen.
Liquid 3-1
|
|
Jinro < Cloud (Though I'm really rooting for the Gorilla Terran to prove me wrong) Zenio < DaRkFoRcE Sheth > Delphi TaeJa > Socke
TaeJa > ace
Liquid 3 - 2 aTn
aTn's roster does not have a player strong enough to beat TaeJa. Liquid has a huge leeway that still allows them to take the set. Any upsets will be due to which server the games are being played on.
Yess! iNcontroL casting this great set.

nice micro by jinro, gets alot of marines.

The things Incontrol just praises (TL holding on to players like Jinro and Nony) is in my opinion the exactly wrong thing and is why Americans think the gap between koreans and foreigners is larger than it actually is.
EG, TL and Complexity (the 3 teams with the most attention in NA) hold on to all their mediocre/bad foreigners (Jinro, Nony, Haypro, TLO, Machine, Incontrol, Lzgamer) and their only new recruits are Koreans. There is not a single TOP foreigner (besides maybe Ret and Demuslim) on these teams and I can't remember the last foreigner they signed.

I guess... but Jinro hasn't been playing in anything outside of Korea, TLO has incredible ZvT, and Incontrol is as much as a personality as a player. As for the others you mentioned, all right. Perhaps, however, teams like to have full practice rosters so their teams can be diverse. Having 10 MMA's might make you the best team ever, but they would all always wind up playing against each other in major tournaments.
|
Jinro no air upgrades lol. What is he doing?
edit: he just forgot them, pretty bad play.
edit2: thank god he had a plan the whole time, mass thor to mitigate air disadvantage while still having a strong force and push through clouds weak siege line to win.
|
He really needs more BCs against that amount of Thors, Jinro just keeps picking off the BCs because ClouD engages with 3 or so at a time. I feel like Jinro is actually using his supply more effectively atm.

I think Haypro and TLO actually have potential to become very strong foreigners, and they have shown great play, but are both very, very inconsistent. Jinro unfortunately isn't performing well now, but he is still the most successful foreigner in SC2, and it is hard to give up a player like that.
Seriously though, if you want to see where the next "generation" of foreign talent, look at EU. There are many more high level players in Europe and some, like Feast or Snute, are just waiting to have a breakout run. It'sGosu and the former Vile team also had some very promising talent coming up from NA, though I feel NA lags behind EU in terms of quantity of high-level players. They just need that chance to get publicity and recognition.

ok.. that might have been the least interesting win you've ever won jinro
BUT IT'S A WIN FOR LIQUID!!!!!!!
gj
|
Jinro scouted the bunker, it'd suck to have 2 marauders not be able to pressure so he built a reaper to go in the front WTF GG?
|
|
|
was that idra playing for cloud
|
Ragequit from ClouD ... at least seems like that to me :x
|
Meta lol
Jinro doesn't need more than 2 units to win But really, I think that scv from cloud went down and didn't see an expo, and he thought it was an all in... Yeah, that's all I got.
|
wow well played cloud, ya douche

|
Did anyone else notice that Cloud was building a refinery at Jinro's third? Maybe I am just going crazy and with the low resolution I was misreading the minimap but I could have sworn Cloud was building a refinery at Jinro's third...
|
Alternate really should recruit some more players or team up more with Team Type for team leagues, so they don't have to send out Cloud ever again. He has such a disgusting attitude towards the game and is bad anyways.
He couldn't even qualify for the Blizzard Continental Final although Italy got 2 slots. Lost to Stareagle and Jeal, lol.

Proxy barracks maurader -> reaper. JinrO send the marauder back to his base and a reaper in ClouDs base. He only had marines in a bunker at front, lost an scv tilted and left.

To make up for the macro tvt the first game, makes sense.

dayum zenio. gotta get that ZvZ up
|
have to give some credit to darkforce as well - he built ample static defense and left an infestor or two at his 3rd base which was significantly hurt, vulnerable to a snipe. That first fungal which held zenio's units in range of the spines was critical. Without that, zenio probably would have sniped the hatch, and although that might not be enough anyway, zenio tends to thrive in bloody trading games, which is why he split his army for that move.
|
Wasn't ZvZ Zenio's strong point?

Indeed. If you look at his Korean TLPD he's about 70% ZVZ and sub-50 in the other two matchups. That's not to say that percentages tell the whole story (they really don't) but it's a testament to his skill in the matchup.

It is somewhat strange how Zenio has looked so weak in team leagues as of late. And some rather weird matches in the NASL as well, not exactly a confidence builder when GSL Code A R2 is just ahead of you.
I still have no real idea how I rate Zenio in general. Apart from inconsistent.

He mentioned that it was suprising that Zenio lost 0-2 in his strongest match up. First point you named was 'cross-server ZvZ' ... and you want to make us believe, you didn't mean he had a disadvantage with your statement? Come on. That was MORE than obvious.
If it wasn't your intention, you should make a better statement than that.

The set was decided the second we knew it was a battle of manners.

Cross-server always hurts both players, but it hurts Zenio more because his ZvZ playstyle relies on aggressive army control over strategy/pure mechanics. So unless those games were 30 minute macro wars (and from this thread, it doesn't sound like it) Zenio would have a disadvantage he's not used to.

Zenio lost a 15 hatch 15 or even 16 pool against a 10 pool drone pull + spine rush first game. Zenio lost a macro game where he split up his army and lost both parts of it to the main army of DF.
None of those games were gimmicky ling/baneling encounters... so, he didn't lose because of delay.

Nice game Taeja, Socke was too ez for him lol
|
Solid play from Taeja in game one.
|
Everyone can lose, even when they are playing their best matchup. Zenio just lost. That's it. It happens sometimes.
|
Why does TL keep sending out Zenio? I mean, he is really good solo, but in team matches he really seems to do poorly. He loses to EVERYBODY, it feels like :/

He's 2-6 this season, with both wins against Empire (Beasty and then Kas in the ace match).

oh incontrol! obviously he's going to build a reaper and win immediatly.

Socke

Could TaeJa play more greedy? Well played by Socke this series.

Very nice by Socke! Taeja is no scrub

Gooood joooooob SOCKEH!!!!!!!!

I don't like the ace choice by aTn against Taeja. He is usually so incredibly good in TvZ.

Boo, I wanted to see TLO or Sheth (or HEROOOOO... ...) for Liquid's ace.

Oh well ... Then only in the last weeks I guess, he did beat colKiller and was pretty strong in the IPL qualifiers. (contributed 8 of 13 maps in the latest)

Yeah, I know, just thought it was kinda funny that he had been failing a bit in this particular league.

Good decision to not field him because it might be an inconvenience for HerO while he is trying to practice a match up he hasn't had to play in the GSL since JYP in code A, which had to of been 1-2 months ago. This is all speculation though ^_^.

"I hear orb's available."
LOL did not expect that from Azael.
EDIT: Didn't expect iNcontroL to call Darkforce the Cleveland Steamer either LOL.

Are you serious, did they just freaking have a huge lag burst RIGHT when Taeja needed to most micro!?!?!?......

umm... no?

Looks like cross server lag destroyed Taeja that game.
|
Props to incontrol. First time I really like his casting. Maybe its because its a little less of the childish goofing and a little more of mature level goofing ^^. Anyway go Attax!!
|
Do they alternate regions?
|
Wow, 1 game from a huge upset. Nice to see aTn finally starting to show its full potential, after underperforming most of this tournament.
|
LOL Geoff.
Such a sick pun haha
|
Ouch, I like TL and was rooting for them, but I can't begrudge Atn their good showing so far this match. Except for PvT vs Taeja... Protoss :O

ah the wonders of cross server play.

EU vs US or US vs KR, yes.
EU vs KR, like in this case, is always played on US.

Why does taeja keep walking around with these paltry bio forces with no medivac or tank support? :/

But obviously they believe it is not that much of an issue.

Plz ppl pull the Taeja had lags card. Because darkforce would never be able to take games from code s terrans like he did before on the nasl finals. Also why put Taeja up as ace if he had lags vs Socke aswell? Wp darkforce wp!!

So many missed fungals.

generally, yes, but it varies a lot

Why... I ask why, does Liquid always have to take it to the last match of the last series? . . . so stressful
|
LOL incontrol, "he knows his SHIT"

Jesus this late 4'th is annoying me xD He has the money!
17 minutes in still no 4'th wonder why darkforce isn't taking a fourth so weird :/.

Darkforce and Socke pulling the upsets.
Foreigners fighting!

Dark Force would NOT lose this game if he had expanded =/

I really feel thats his weakness. He tends to stay on low drone count/bases and produce units as long as he doesnt feel too safe.

This is normal play for darkforce? wow xD that is something he needs to work on then as that just doesn't work I feel.

Darkforce may be the most annoying Zerg to watch. I'm just sitting here ripping my hair out watching him sit on 3 bases all day long.
|
This game is a prime example of why people dont go Mutas anymore, they just get countered by good marine splits and solid macro
|
Taeja's marine split is so bad in this game.
|
Taeja's macro wins the match for TL! Congratulations!!!
Great casting, Azael and iNcontroL!

Phew that was TERRIFYING for a liquid fan.

DF foreigners it up in game 3.

On May 08 2012 13:43 Letall wrote: This game is a prime example of why people dont go Mutas anymore, they just get countered by good marine splits and solid macro
Actually that game had nothing to do with mutas. It had to do with darkforce not even trying to take a fourth. This game showed absolutely nothing on how mutas are bad because they aren't. Just the way darkforce stayed on 3 bases ALL GAME long is really bad vs an equal base, let alone when terran has a 4'th.
|
haha.. i'm a little glad TL won.. great games all around though.. incontrol for prez.
|
On May 08 2012 13:43 Letall wrote: This game is a prime example of why people dont go Mutas anymore, they just get countered by good marine splits and solid macro
Taeja was only able to macro because darkforce let him. (by not securing his free lead from taeja's weird opening)
If he had taken a 4th and droned up then he could have traded and had enoguh gas to make a muta ball alrge enough to never let Taeja get a 4th.
He never really got that many muta... he couldn't even kill buildings all game long because his mutaball DPS was so low lol.
|
As usual, almost had a heart attack watching TL in a team league

Darkforce to Korea, gogo.

yea im pretty sure darkforce had his reasons why he didnt take a 4th. Considering hes a top tier level zerg and has very strong and thoughtout zvt. Considering hes most popular for being the most patient player in long macro games. and it kinda pisses me off when people like you think they are knowitalls

Yea in this game that couldve happend but the longer the games goes on the worse mutas get and tbh Teejas splits in this game where not the greatest, had they been better this game wouldve ended a lot sooner.

God, TL. You guys REALLY need to stop trying to kill me T_T

looked like darkforce was aiming for that dimaga 3 base muta/baneling all-in, but backed out after losing a bunch of units and never got on track again.

Even if he had taken a 4th he was still behind on upgrades vs a terran on 3 base with proper marine splitting and tank positioning a Terran would be able to keep trading vs a zerg who is going muta/ling/bane. All it takes is 1 bad engagement vs a Terran and the game is over. Also I never said mutas are bad I said they get countered and people dont go for mutas anymore.

TaeJa redeeming his loss to Socke and taking down darkforce to secure the win. Thank the lord.

Come on, Liquid. This was much closer than it had to be.
Good play by aTn.

Socke so sick, to me it seems like this guy beats more koreans than he beats foreigners xD
|
Looks like aTn put up a good fight, would've been cool if Darkforce had won the ace match.

The results were expected however my prediction was Cloud over Jinro, not Socke over Taeja..

Wtf? Taeja? ._.
Also GJ Jinro! :D
