Signups through here in a post. Just remember, all this will do is give you early sign-in access on Saturday, and ordered preference. After that it's when you show up.15 minutes could mean the difference between playing and watching.
We had some questions PM'd to me. I keep a pretty good eye on this thread, so go ahead and ask it here, it won't hurt any
Original Message From zLBowsan: Hey, I saw your post on the Season 3 Grand Finals, and was just wondering if I was still able to qualify for that, or is this all set and done? If not, where would I go to sign up for this? Thanks.
Saturday is your chance to qualify for Sunday. It's what I like to call the last chance qualifier. There is no prize pool for that day, but you have access to a big one if you make it to Sunday.
So, can we / do we have to register early for saturday to get a spot? Or does the bracket grow if it gets bigger?
You don't technically have to register and tonight I will fill in the liquipedia bracket with who is already in. It's been a busy day. If you post in the TL thread that you want to pre-register, I'll mark you down and you get the early sign-up priority.
No, def not bigger than 32... we don't have the computers or the time in a day to do that... even with Katie running the brackets.
I'm interested in registering for a guaranteed spot in this event. How would I go about doing so?
Put your name and char code down here. It's won't guarantee you a spot, but it will give you early access to sign-in on Saturday. After 10a, it's first come first serve.
Hey Drog, Just to be clear.. even the last chance qualifier is a live event? not an online? So I can't sign up and play from home Saturday? I would have to sign up and physically be at NERD?

Only waiting on the last items from Kingston, and I will have a full inventory of everything we are giving away. I can tell you this, there is more than 2 120GB SSD and easily at least 4 cases... one might be an NZXT Switch 810
Just a little love to send to you guys... word has it that Antec has hopped in on the finals and maybe even for the future semi-pro league... Gotta work out of few details, but SQUEE!!
Yes, that is on Saturday and will fill out the last 5 slots in the Bracket. It's all in the OP under everything listed "Day 1". BTW, you were the one that wanted to do race swapping last tournament, correct?
IT'S OFFICIAL! Antec is now a sponsor for the final event and have opted in for the Gamer Lounge area that will be on site. Expect some great Antec gear to be added to the already awesome prizes. That list will be up either tomorrow, or Saturday

I plan on driving up from NY, likely going to stay for 2 days just to avoid waking up at 5am and playing after driving for 3-4hrs tt, might need a place to stay, havent decided on motel or sleeping in my car yet :D
I'm driving from Rochester, NY for this one, I'm working here at a medical office filing papers til that's done, so dunno if I'm gonna be back in NH before the finals :/. I'm willing to pick up anyone along the way :D
Sadly, I have to take off some of the things that are in the 2 day prize for the finals weekend. Reason is... I don't think the case is big enough! This is what happens when I asked Antec to sponsor our gamer lounge area!
Which one do you think will fit right? I kinda like? I'm thinking the 1100 Case would be good.
Hey guys me and 2-3 friends plan on coming up to the LAN but we don't have a place to crash would anyone be willing to house us for saturday night and POSSIBLY sunday night? T_T
Edit: I didn't see the post above mine XD T_T silly me
Apparently GosuGamers would like to do some coverage of the NESC2 Finals, but they need someone to do it for them. You'll need a video camera and doing some casual interviews of players, spectators, staff, everyone... I can connect whoever wants to do it with the right people. No commission, but if you earn income through a youtube channel, you have the rights to do so, and I'm sure GG will direct traffic to your channel.

BTW, I just got a 120GB 3k SSD that will be going into the 2 day prize and a 32GB Wi-drive that will be going out to... something fun How's that 2 day prize looking now?

I think I might have room on the floor of my hotel for the two of you. Problem is it's on sat->sun night. I'll double check how many people we have in the rooms and I can get back to you after work tonight. Mind you, it's all staff right now.
-edit- Hotwire does have hotels for 1 night for about $100 and only about 10 miles out. That's where I got the staff rooms.

Can I get there early (say 1030AM or so) to grab some photos before things get started, or should I plan to show up at 3 with the spectators?
Edit: Also you should send me that NESC2L logo so I can work on a watermark!

Crew will start to be there around 8 to finish setting up stuff. You can come around then if you want.
Saturday is coming fast and furious! I got an email from Monster Energy last week, looks like we have about 240 cans coming in for the event FREE! Well, almost free, I have a fun little game for you guys. Here's what you have to do to get free Monster:
Print out this flier http://i.imgur.com/IKsvA.jpg (looks best on 11x17 or 2 normals taped together) and hang it up somewhere: bar, library, school board, anywhere. Now take a picture of yourself with at least 1 person pointing out the Monster Energy symbol.
Show us at the event! The symbol is hidden pretty well, but once you see it, it just sticks out like a sore thumb. Free Monster for EVERYONE! well 240 cans worth anyway XD
On June 12 2012 14:24 AGIANTSMURF wrote: ok, im driving someone up who plans on playing on day 1. Im coming from NY so its gonna be a 3-4 hr drive
What time do we need to be there at the latest?
10:30am on Saturday. We close registration at that time so we can get brackets set up, make sure everyone knows the rules, and get a little practice time in for the 11am start time.
26 and counting! For you guys checking this out, last night I counted up just under $4k in gear to give away, and that is not counting the $1k prize pool. Yes... it is up to $1,000 total now! We'll also be having discount Subway sandwiches on site, opportunities to get more raffle tickets, and of course... ... ... ... WATER!
-quick edit- So this was just pointed out to me and I've been able to address it. Since NoMicroWin won't be able to make it, and he qualified through points gained over the season, the next person in line gets his spot.
On June 13 2012 11:45 Qaz wrote: Awesome. I'm signing up. beQaz.411
Done and done!
So since we are expecting so many people to show up, instead of having a name list, we will have raffle tickets that everyone will get at least one of. There will be different colors and they will correspond to Saturday, Sunday, and the 2-day prizes. You'll also have the chance to buy additional tickets and I'll have the details for that posted tomorrow.
But, everyone is guaranteed at least one Sat/Sun ticket as long as you show up that day.
On June 14 2012 12:20 Pokebunny wrote: Hmm, might be taking a bus on sat but nowhere to stay sat night anyone with a place / getting hotel room and have floor space?
I think I have some floor space in our hotel. Some of the casters are choosing to drive back and forth. No worries though, we can def find a place for you.

Chrian... same situation as beHispid. You qualify based on points. Maybe it was a good move for you to lose all the qualifiers, you got to slowly make your way in sneaky sneaky :p
On June 15 2012 10:41 Zimmbous wrote: So how will the seeding work for the Open tourny? ie who plays who first etc. Will it be based on ladder rank? I might be interested in playing
Nope. Once registration is closed, my admin mashes the random button on challonge.com a bunch of times to mix everyone up. Then it's posted. The bracket on Sunday is based on when, and what rank you qualified at.
--In Additional News--
Also, so the bracket has been updated to reflect our current list of players for Sunday. I also have for you... RAFFLE TICKETS!
There are 3 colors of tickets: red, blue, white. Red tickets are for Saturday. Blue tickets are for Sunday. White tickets are for the 2 day prize.
Everyone gets 1 ticket based on the day you show up. If you show up both days, you can turn in your red ticket for a white one to qualify for the 2 day prize. EVERYONE is guaranteed 1 ticket, including players, up to the venue limit for people. You can also purchase more red or blue tickets on that day. On Sunday, red tickets will be turned in for white ones, but only if you have an equal amount of blue. ex: 3 red, 5 blue = 3 white 5 red, 3 blue = 3 white
Additional Ticket Costs $5 you get 3 $10 you get 7 $20 you get 15 $40 you get 35 $50 you get 45 $60 you get 55 $80 you get 75 $100 you get 100

Did that make any sense?
So whites are reds that turned blue? Sounds rascist.
I will forgive walmart I guess, since I bought my cake ingredients there. Gonna be making them tomorrow and hoping they turn out well, if they do this will be the tastiest esports event of all time .

I will be closing the pre-reg tonight. So remember, after 10am, sign-ins are first come first serve REGARDLESS of registration. Also, I have all this Monster Energy to give out, so make sure to take a pic of you showing someone the flier and show it to us at the tournament.
Hey there last minute pre registration. i was told to put my info on this page. Name: JJ Battlenet name: INFluence friend code: 290 age: 20 race: zerg league silver

ha ha I bet! But I can only make so many signs, and I really have no idea who the casters are at this event. Maybe next time ...
Hey guys, sorry I have been running around like crazy. We have plenty of seats here and we started giving away prizes. So come on down and check out the live action.
Well I think that went far better than I had any right to hope for. I expected to go out 0-2 0-2 today but luckily I stuck around. Great event, was a lot of fun (and stress).
Huge thanks to the Fight Night-ers. I kind of put a lot of pressure on myself and I don't take losses well, thanks for keeping me sane lol (thanks to Tempo as well for this o: ). Was very cool to meet most of you. Special shoutout to vVvMagnet for hanging out almost the entire time. Glad you got your keyboard. Hope I represented Fight Nighters well enough, sorry I lost that Cloud game >_>
I usually have a lot of trouble with motivation but after this, damn I want to play more. Awesome event, will definitely be at future ones. Production was great, thanks guys. Congrats to Poke/Boyo/November/Crusha, wpwp.
Also, thanks to some feedback from a kind soul, I've decided to completely change one of my better match-ups and start FFEing every game, I now realize that 2gate expo is a bad build and it should never have won a map.
I had a great time at the event both days. Drogith, the experience at the lan was amazing. You and everyone else on the production side did a fantastic job. And I can't believe at how much stuff was raffeled off, thanks for the mouse, ram and thumbdrive. Oh and the Subway. And the Monster.
Can't wait for the semi-pro league next season. See all you Fight Night-ers on Weds when I will finally know the faces behind all the voices.
the bald guy was a friend of mine and will be posting them either on the forums for NESC2 League or on his facebook, check the site first, or ask/pm drogith
Grats Poke! Wish I could have shown up on day 2 (or hung around day 1 for any after day festivities), but oh well. Still had fun on day 1 and was nice seeing people again and meeting a few new people.
It was really awesome to see how far the league has come since season 1. Great job Drogith, miss geek, & the pretty large crew that you have now have assembled by this point.
I had SO MUCH FUN! I hope you all enjoyed my casting :D
Everyone there was awesome people; I felt so welcomed instantly upon walking in. You guys have a great community and I was happy to be a part of it this weekend. Hopefully I can be a part of it more (but your "little town" is kinda far away )
Thanks for putting up with me, providing THE highest quality local/regional tournament I've seen, and being generally awesome!
This weekend was absolutely amazing! You guys ran a kick ass tourney and I was glad to be apart of it. Had my best showing in a tourney so far (though I hoping to qualify for Sunday ) and was glad to meet a bunch of the fight nighters, as well as some new people and familiar faces, and put some faces on some names. I'll see you guys at the next event for sure!
For a home grown non-profit tourney this was the shit. The venue, setup, prizes, food, organization, and production/casting all were amazing. I mean.. there were player interviews, gameshows, cake, food, barcraft, snugglysoft super sofas, beers on unicycles, strippers, astronauts, president obama.. what more could you ask for?!?!

To give you a quick break down, I just sat down to look at my pc for the first time. Bed at 1am mon morning then up for work at 5:30a. I hurt, I'm sore, and I'm sorry I yelled at everyone to shut up at one point. Would I do it all again(minus the yelling) HELL YEAH! Once I actually finished getting settled in I'll go through make something official. But for now... everyone that came out...
Go to our sponsor pages and let all of them know about the time you had at this event. Without any of these amazing sponsors, my team and I would not have been able to put on the production we did. Contact us, feedback, even a personal e-mail... let them know, so we can set up more local stuff JUST LIKE THIS!
This was really fun glad I came out! I'll try to make it to future events. It was great to meet everyone, thanks for being so friendly to me - that made a big difference! Special shout-out to CoL.Ryan for only dropping his phone like 20 times per hour. And as a bonus I got TempO hugs! What more can you want out of life?
Photos are live! Sorry for the delay everyone, I've been busy with family issues and work since my return. I hope you understand and more importantly, I hope you enjoy the photos!
Congratulations to Pokebunny, Boyo, and MrNovember for placing in this season's grand finals tournament! You guys rock! Thanks so much to everyone at NESC2L who volunteers their time and effort to make this production possible. Grassroots E-Sports wouldn't be possible without guys and girls like you!
