Appreciating that Golden pulled that off (because there was more to that than most spellcasting in SC2) would be more appropriate.

I wouldn't quite say it is irrelevant to the game. Imagine all those marines that were funglaed last game. What killed all of them off? It was because they were froze in place that Golden could keep throwing fungals on top of the already fungaled marines because they were just frozen there. In BW, u plague a group of marines, but T could micro them back, and not lose them all to just spells

When you land a storm, you can do something about it, you can eat it, you can dodge it, you can try and juke it out you can do lots of things.

When you land a fungal, you just ignore those units cause 100% there is not a thing you can do. Nothing at all. Those units will die and you don't have a choice in the matter.

Stuff like that, SHOULD NOT be in the game. Nothing should be an absolute.

The biggest problem with Fungal is that it removes micro mechanics from the game rather than add to them.

You misread him.

casting 2 forcefields for 100 mana is OP because it reduces micro potential.
casting 1 stasis field for 100 mana is balanced because it removes micro ability.

casting 2-3 fungals at 150-225 energy to possibly kill a small pack of marines is OP because it removes the micro potential of the marines hit by the spell.
casting 2 dark swarms for 200 energy is balanced because it reduces the attack potential of the entire terran army.

The reason for this is because the older spells are from BW, which is obviously balanced and the newer spells are from SC2 which is obviously not balanced.

Just learn to read between the lines and you'll see what a lot of balance whine is all about.

Hm, I don't know about that, his macro is pretty good, his choice of strat as well, the only thing he really needs to work on is to get a little more solid, in clutch situation he really gets shaky with his decisions and micro, if he somehow fixes that he is code-s worthy imo.
