If genius attacked earlier, ret would have been in lots of trouble you have to calculate that he saw early third from genius and knew he would have a smaller army.. i think he made the right decision in that case, he lost the game only because of having no support and too many drones later on.
absolutely. I'd say that decision was awesome. I was just explaining how one could consider this type of style cheesy. I didn't even make the statement that it was cheese in the first place :D

If genius attacked earlier, ret would have been in lots of trouble He had map control and had roach tech ready incase he needed to make units. Then he made 100 drones and 200/200'ed on 10 brood lords and 5 infestors, had everything die, and burned his entire bank in his second army.
He essentially went all in lol

Well... Cheese is pretty much a relative term
But it was incredibly greedy, going to 100 drones at about the 10 minute mark. He will die to ANY timing attack imo.

since when did massive droning equal good macro?

Really don't like that they have shakuras plateau in the map pool. It is such a bad map.

5base Split Map Timing Push Cheese.
Gotcha man
+ Show Spoiler +I do agree with you that it is overly greedy and gimmicky to do such a Monobattle strat--but cheese has such a "specific" connotation of underhandedness that I don't think it's fair to describe a Broodlord rush as cheese.

Stephano has the BEST Hive play of all the Zergs I've seen, and that includes DRG and Nestea. He understands that tech in a way that few other Zergs do - and he knows how to attack with it. Yeah, Dimaga's method works, too, but fuck does that make for a boring game.

Ret has a tendency to overdroning and taking economic risk.
I'd admit that "cheese" is a questionable term, but that was at the very least a "BL rush" and it didn't pay off.
Edit: And for the record, Greater spire was started on 3 base, not 5, folks.

Genius pulling an Inca?! D:

More spines and more bl/infestor and he wins this easily

When Genius decided to attack, he demolished Ret's army. It's not like Genius had a lucky position.
