Map scores between them: Heart: 4-2 DRG: 3-3 Parting: 2-4 Parting is out, DRG should be 6th I had it 20 minutes ago (more than that just deciding to post it later when no one understood) There. Score > Head to Head > Difference between Won and Lost maps > Overall Won maps ... easy and fair ... no need for a stupid "mini pool" You do realize that the UEFA Champions League group stage uses H2H goal differential (and H2H goals scored, and H2H away goals) before group goal differential to break ties, right? That seems analogous to using H2H map score before overall map score for this tournament.

For instance, when Heart was leading 2-0 against Parting, it turns out the 3rd game was the game that would decide the fate of both players (If I'm right and I am) Edit: Ninajed just above :D I see, but then that kind of makes things worse imo, as it gave some games a lot more relevance than others. Like how that 3rd game was a deciding factor, but DRG's 3rd game against MKP and Partings 3rd game against MC were pointless.

It should go match record (all three are 3-4), winning percentage (Heart is no longer tied), then head to head/match record between the tied players. Not this confusing nonsense. Heart would be eliminated from the Tiebreaker as soon as he goes ahead of the others. But the thing is in this case Heart breaks his tie alongside DRG who also tiebreaks parting at the same time. If it was heart with most wins, then DRG/Parting were both with the same w/l record amongst the three then what you said would work.

Not really, because the players can't know for sure that those games will be pointless. So you have to play your best every game. With this format, it's almost guaranteed that some 3rd game will be important

The ties could've been different. Also, I suspect that part of the 3-games-no-matter-what rule is due to them wanting a maximum number of games for the spectators. And since you don't know if it's gonna be a meaningful game till the end, players will try hard too.
