Where is the "korean honor" that people talks a lot? I guess MKP should have gave up after that DC to avoid the rematch. He isn't even happy about his wins because of that shit. So save him and his team from this shitstorm and say that parting won that game. People will see him as a honest hero. And if PRIME win after the "surrender", they would be seen as real champions. But now... if PRIME win, it will be lame. I was in so much hype but after that DC, I don't even care.
you dont know what happened. so how can you call BS?
How many games in BW got dropped in the history of BW?
1. And that was due to a power outage which was caused by a heater.
Even if bnet was 99.9% stable, it means that you'll have a 10% chance of it happening at least once. Even if it was 99.999% stable, the more games you pile up, you'll have dropped games. Probability wise you won't dodge the bullet forever. You'll have dropped games, and every time, it'll be like this.
are we talking about what happened today? or do you want to just talk about hypothetical situations in the future?
I'm saying that the excuse is bullshit. There was one dropped game in BW and that was literally due to a power outage. Yes, there were regames that were given thanks to hardware issues but because of connectivity? never.
So because it only happened once in BW there was no way it could have happened here?
You have no way of know what happened there is no reason to take your opinion over that of a tech guy on the scene
Your second point is a very fair point. At the same time, I think a probability of a connectivity issue thanks to b.net is far more likely than the excuse that they gave. That is all I'm saying.
i have no idea what you are even talking about. some guy said it was an internet issue. i pointed out that they said it was not an internet issue. so, wtf are you talking about? if it was not an internet issue then it was not an internet issue.
I'm saying it's very very likely an internet issue that they're covering up for PR, because chances of a random hardware failure in the middle of the match is far more slim than b.net finally dropping a game.
Funny to see you in the sc2tournaments forum.
I didn't know I wasn't allowed to watch big events anymore!
Isn't it horrible fucking form for them to do this, even if they aren't outright rigging the match?
if the only thing in their rules was a "regame" then they stuck to their rules. I just hope all the major tournaments think of a better way of dealing with situations like this. This is how the tournament scenes get better and better -- the problem first needs to surface itself. It sucks for parting but I hope StarTale's loss tonight is at least justified in the future by organizers thinking of better solutions.
There IS a system in place. The rule is that in the case of this kind of situation, the game is only a regame if it's impossible to make a call on the winner. Which is NOT the case.

He shouldn't be..the regame wasn't decided by him.
Doesn't change the fact that he KNOWS ppl are going to blame him, his team, GOMtv, etc. etc. Ppl WILL bitch about this no matter what. MKP MUST be feeling horrible right now
Why blame the player and the team? >.<
They have to blame it on something, as asinine and illogical as it is. Why not blame the cable? Maybe someone tripped over it.
If anyone, refs should be blamed. Prime and MKP can't really do much in that situation.
That being said, the refs really had a tough job that had to be done. It's not an easy choice to make, and someone will always disagree with the decision.

Either way, tournaments really do need to deal with this better, especially with transferring advantages over to the player in the lead when the drop happens. It's far better than a 'regame' that'll mess up people's mentality.
especially about something that can be so easily verified to be false. ?
Are you serious? Only the IPL staff has access to the computers. Everybody else has absolutely no way to verify ANYTHING.

It was Prime's fault cuz....?
no one's fault
just seems like if StarTale wins, they deserved it
but if prime wins, it's questionable
and I just want a deserving team win with no controversy; would have loved it if parting was awarded the win and prime ended up winning
This. The only way this won't be a tainted championship is for StarTale to win. Sorry to Prime fans, but either your team loses or wins* with a footnote. Even if Prime wins, I doubt they will be considered the champion by most.

It's already awkward for him, you can see it when they show him on cam. Really hope it doesn't tilt him for IPL.
Also, for people paying attention, LAN isn't the solution, loading games from replays is. It solves all the connectivity and hardware problems.
I'm pretty sure it is. Everyone keeps suggesting a bandaid instead of the real fix, LAN.
Well Lan would obviously help a lot, but being able to play from a point in time would still be the ultimate safety net, so even if some PC malfunction happens you can still keep going after a short break
Being able to play from a point in time would be the allow players to get to the next level. The ability to do that would change practice dramatically

except with basic knowledge you can tell that it's BS.
- first calls it "internet problems" now it's "hardware problems". one is BS. those are two different problems - says it's dc from LOCAL internet - - if it's using LAN cords (which they should) to connect to the local internet, then it's BS - - if it's using WLAN, which means IPL is really bad, and shouldn't be doing that, then it's not really BS, but really retarded

MKP could have won if Parting had played it wrong but this 100 % to be awarded a win some people bring up is pretty silly. By that standard almost no game is 100 % since there is always the possibility your opponent goes brain dead. You have to draw a line somewhere.

no one reasonable/ respected would hate on MKP and not Bnet for the loss.
