They should have a rule for disconnecting during a game almost won by one of the players. They start a Bo3 MKP vs PartinG with PartinG up 1-0. So MKP still has the possibility to comeback (because he could have done it in the game), but PartinG has a tremendous advantage.

That's awkward but I think it could be a nice fix until LAN mode (...) :D

It's already awkward for him, you can see it when they show him on cam. Really hope it doesn't tilt him for IPL.

Also, for people paying attention, LAN isn't the solution, loading games from replays is. It solves all the connectivity and hardware problems.

I'm pretty sure it is. Everyone keeps suggesting a bandaid instead of the real fix, LAN.

Well Lan would obviously help a lot, but being able to play from a point in time would still be the ultimate safety net, so even if some PC malfunction happens you can still keep going after a short break

Prime lost their supporters because MKP disconnected?

Did he do it on purpose? Do you know something the rest of us don't?

Blame Blizzard for killing Esports. Blame GOM for the regame. Stop being an idiot.

He wasn't beat by Parting

yes he was

you must have amazing analytical skills considering all you did was watch the game live, see a screenshot of the unit count, and an army graph at the end.

MKP's micro makes army stats invalid.

I can do this all day.

well if you're gonna do this all day it might be useful to figure out whos saying the same thing as you and who isn't

It was Prime's fault cuz....?

no one's fault

just seems like if StarTale wins, they deserved it

but if prime wins, it's questionable

and I just want a deserving team win with no controversy; would have loved it if parting was awarded the win and prime ended up winning

The quality was dropped so you would buy it from GOM. Buy HD and you can have 480p again!

link? even if they did say that i call BS

you dont know what happened. so how can you call BS?

How many games in BW got dropped in the history of BW?

1. And that was due to a power outage which was caused by a heater.

Even if bnet was 99.9% stable, it means that you'll have a 10% chance of it happening at least once. Even if it was 99.999% stable, the more games you pile up, you'll have dropped games. Probability wise you won't dodge the bullet forever. You'll have dropped games, and every time, it'll be like this.

are we talking about what happened today? or do you want to just talk about hypothetical situations in the future?

I'm saying that the excuse is bullshit. There was one dropped game in BW and that was literally due to a power outage. Yes, there were regames that were given thanks to hardware issues but because of connectivity? never.

So because it only happened once in BW there was no way it could have happened here?

You have no way of know what happened there is no reason to take your opinion over that of a tech guy on the scene

Your second point is a very fair point. At the same time, I think a probability of a connectivity issue thanks to b.net is far more likely than the excuse that they gave. That is all I'm saying.

i have no idea what you are even talking about. some guy said it was an internet issue. i pointed out that they said it was not an internet issue. so, wtf are you talking about? if it was not an internet issue then it was not an internet issue.

I'm saying it's very very likely an internet issue that they're covering up for PR, because chances of a random hardware failure in the middle of the match is far more slim than b.net finally dropping a game.

Funny to see you in the sc2tournaments forum.

I didn't know I wasn't allowed to watch big events anymore!

What do you think of this:
+ Show Spoiler +
[image loading]
Isn't it horrible fucking form for them to do this, even if they aren't outright rigging the match?

if the only thing in their rules was a "regame" then they stuck to their rules. I just hope all the major tournaments think of a better way of dealing with situations like this. This is how the tournament scenes get better and better -- the problem first needs to surface itself. It sucks for parting but I hope StarTale's loss tonight is at least justified in the future by organizers thinking of better solutions.

Hating the player/team is dumb. Hating refusal to incorporate any sort of feature that would solve this kind of shit is completely understandable.

He shouldn't be..the regame wasn't decided by him.

Doesn't change the fact that he KNOWS ppl are going to blame him, his team, GOMtv, etc. etc. Ppl WILL bitch about this no matter what. MKP MUST be feeling horrible right now

and he had a choice in it too. he could have told the refs to award the win to parting.

...people should expect players to take winning seriously. This isn't some little league game where the players are supposed to feel good about themselves. their goal is to win.

people need to make their mind up, lets use an analogy to solve this

players play to win right? take every advantage you get

lets say im playing football and i get tackled it looks bad but it's actually nothing should i go down and get their player carded?
im in the penalty area and i feel a faint push on my back, i should dive to the ground and get a penalty right?

do these relate to starcraft? not really nor do they relate to disconnecting but at what point is the line between being a levelheaded decent player and being a play to win step over everyone and everything player?

Man getting a free win in a game you lost must be soooooo haaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrddddddddddddddd

Oh, so we're bumping it up to him getting a free win? They totally didn't replay that, you're right.

Honestly we should have both, but I would take the replay loading first because that way a dc is not a problem ever.

Why do people keep blaming MKP and "Prime"?

It was Gom that decided to re-game

And Gom was forced to make a call on a shitty situation because of Blizzard's refusal to properly find a solution after months and months of tournament issues due to game disconnects. Blizzard, a company that's hardly struggling, should be bringing some onsite servers to tournaments or finding a way to reconnect to replays instead of shrugging their shoulders whenever their shitty Bnet 2.0 fucks up.

LAN *IS* a solution. So is loading from replays.

The problem is, we don't have either one.

....why don't we have reloading from replays? I'm not sure which, but some of the MOBAS have that future, and I saw it save a tournament from having to do an unnecessary re-game. I think it was Dota 2.

Look, it's okay to be upset about the decision and even furious/mad about the lack of stability whether it be due to lack of LAN or IGN for not making sure connection issues like this could be avoided, BUT IT IS NEVER OKAY to start ridiculing the player who received the better end of a decision. MKP is showing great games and playing his heart out for his team and just doing his job. It's amazing how fickle and disgusting this community can become, if you stop supporting Prime now then you were never a true fan to begin with (I'm rooting for ST btw) but can you imagine how MKP feels? He has to potentially deal with a tainted victory but he has no choice but to play his best. Anyway point your anger towards blizzard/ign/or w/e but not the player.
