Please have some respect for the players, teams, and tournament.
Criticism is fine, criticism without anything to back it up isn't so cool.
Thanks!

So if Thorzain can beat crazymoving, we have this weird situation where 3 players are tied for match score, and each has one win and one loss head to head. Does it then move to map score?

Wow, such ridiculous comments in this thread. Apparently MC has bad PvZ now, news to me with his 5-0 record against the ZvP chops of Stephano, pushed DRG to the limit at Blizzcup, many others that I can't recall to memory. He had bad PvZ in his slump period, but he was pretty bad at all matches in that period.

his zvp isn't bad, but these past months have been disgusting with how much weight people put into foreigner tournaments. Stephano beats whitera and grubby 20 times in a row and he's suddenly the best player in the world.

Then he beats Polt, a player who is in a huge slump and was in Code B before given a welfare spot, and he's suddenly Code S caliber.

MC beats Violet and Stephano and he suddenly has the best pvz. GSL performances are what matter. Playing 10 matches in a row against foreigners with the occasional mediocre Korean mixed in is nothing compared to the week long match preparations and the prestige of the GSL. Not to mention every player in Code S is better than every foreigner in the world. Beating sub par competition should not put you in the "best of the world discussion"

Alive is in this tournament. So is DRG and MKP-- world class players who are hot performing well in GSTL and GSL. Why these players are being overshadowed by hype foreign tourney heroes is beyond me.

Doing well in tournaments like GSL and TSL where there's ample time to prepare for your specific opponent doesn't necessarily equate to doing well at weekend events like MLG/DH.

I don't think there's many/any players who've done well regular in GSL/TSL formats but always fail in LAN formats.

If anything we've seen that good players are good players and will excel anywhere.

The same welfare spot that MMA, MC, and DRG all got to be in Code S?

The community's mind is so fickle. MKP was slumping hard less than two months ago and hadn't gone past the Ro32 of GSL in six plus months. Now he's #1 Terran again.

Koreans have said time and time again Stephano could make Code S. I'll just take their word for it and I'm not even a huge Stephano fan.

It's not the same. They weren't 'welfare spots' before, when they were awarded through the MLG system. When MC got his code S spot back, he played those LB finals for that spot. That prize was on the line at the time. The current invite system on the other hand is fickle and random.

(I'm not disagreeing with Polt's invite, just pointing out a glaring difference. One invite was based on rules, the other on who the hell knows what, maybe a TL thread?)

Stephano played 5 games against JYP and won them all when they were practicing; JYP's best matchup and one of the best in the world right now in that matchup. When Stephano was in Korea, he dominated the ladder. At blizzard cup, he lost to Mvp and MC but beat DRG and Hero (also known for his PvZ).

Keep in mind Hero and DRG were both Bo1 games though. And to be fair, this series has been extremely one sided. DRG just had an uncharacteristic lapse. If he just engages JYP's army rather than sacking his entire army for a Nexus, he wins easily.

Some facts before thorzain vs crazymoving:
If ThorZaIN 2-0's crazymoving MC will get fifth place, thorzain fourth and SaSe third. If Thorzain 2-1s thorzain and MC switches place. If crazymoving wins Sase will get fifth, MC fourth and crazymoving third.

Loser of thorzain vs crazymoving gets last place.

It's funny how much can change depending on the results here. SaSe will for sure have more than nationalistic reasons to cheer for his friend from Sweden.

bo3's are also fickle.

Foreigners could do well in one Bo and then its a completely different story in the next Bo.

Many guys lack the consistency.
