The other option was to try break the big push and then use your bigger economy to overwhelm the meagre reinforcements Polt could crank out with your much bigger numbers of new units.
By that point Stephano was already dead. He just didn't have enough units to defeat Polt.

Not landing mules each time you have 50 energy is NOT neglecting your macro. Scans are important.

We still must remark the level of trolling and badassness from Stephano:

You dont need a t3 unit when ur t1 unit just decimates everything in a matter of seconds

Probably not, Polt's upgrades were awesome. Just saying that was the other option he could have tried, I don't know which would have made it closer.

Prediciton for this (last) game: - Stephano does some decent damage to Polts eco/army - Looses game later against Rines/Tanks.

It was impossible for him to break the push, you can't flank once he is sieged up and you need broodlords to clean it up.

Once Stephano hesitated and pulled back his army after number of tank firings, his supply advantage was gone. He also made bad decision of letting polt kill all of his mining bases for the sake of broodlords - he should have countered attacked to polt's third again, but he did it too late and had to pull back once polt's reinforcement was in position to defend it.
As appolo said-- Zerg sacrificing their army for SCV's is not really optimal. Terran's weakness is their production. Their strength is the mule. Stephano trades his army for SCVs. Polt kills him with his in tact army.

Pretty sure I just saw 3 Banelings kill about 20 marines in an actual second just now.
Marines do a lot of damage, but they also die really quickly. That's kind of their role.

Why is always the player that i dislike the most (except marineking ... love his tears) going to win when i watch live? So sad for Stephano

lol you didnt watch this game ...
polt lifted up cc from main, stephano sacrificed 3rd and 4th base and invested all banked money for brood lords, 2 of them killed while morphing, in the end polt had 3rd base fully mining, stephano was almost mined out, lost all brood lords to marines, good position of tanks killed , lings and infestors

Polt is playing out of this world. He just got knocked out of Code A. ...So? You do realize, MC, MMA and DRG, possibly three of the best players in Code S were all not in Code S when they got their seed, right? MMA and MC both fell out of Code A. DRG lost in the Ro16 of Code A. Polt deserves a Code S sponsor seed if he wins. No doubt. Winning a specific qualification tournament isn't the same as being selected. He was knocked out, what, a week and a half ago? This just hammers home why I dislike invites to Code S.
