Losing to Federer was never a bad thing for anybody since he's the best player ever to have played Björn Borg would like to have a word with you....

A lot of people used to call Sc2 random and that anybody could beat anybody. I'm glad that this tournament, Blizzcon and WCG have proven that this isn't really the case.

Took me a while to encode, upload and Youtube itself to process it. Features matches in a tight neat package and also after match interviews with DIMAGA and MMA and the price ceremony. I hope you'll enjoy it!

80-100k a year spent on training for the Korean terran, and he manages to get first at a foreign tournament!! grats!! common guys, you really think 70% of sc2 players wanna see Koreans take gold all the ******* time ?? well, that was a little bit of venting, but give us 100k a year, and the best mathematical builds knows to man, with thousands of dollars and hours in practice .. and see what we can do.. god this is ridiculous.. make it seem like Koreans are just naturally better.. then again.. starcaft is their drug.. whats ours? Pot. need I say more?

MMA won because he works harder than anyone else at the tournament and he's smarter than anyone else at the tournament. He has the best macro, micro, multitask, decision making and builds. He is superior to every other player at this IEM in every facet of this game and it's all through his own hard work.

He also has the best Terran-centric team to train with, and his own personal coach. These are things most other SC2 players do not have. This person's grumble is a bit understandable, although it's likely that MMA still would win IEM even without some of these things.

Your logic doesn't even make sense, the reason the Koreans - and MMA in particular - win is because they work harder. But hey, it's obviously money and not work ethic that gets Koreans the win.... See: Carmac's tweets: "MMA is the most hard-working pro gamer I have ever met. And I've been in esports for 10 years. @SlayerSMMA" - "After winning 1/4 final on Sat MMA stayed to practice for 1 more hr. He showed up at 9:30am on Sun and practiced another 7 hrs for his semi." -

Basically any Korean professional can join Slayers, but they sure aren't all as good as MMA. I would also bet that Slayers would happily take lots of foreign Terrans too if they were interested in joining. He has a personal trainer because he got so good in the first place off his own back to make it worthwhile for Slayers to invest in their prized asset. He didn't have a personal coach until after he made the Super Tournament final, maybe even after his Code S win.

The only reason it is a strong Terran team is because those other Terrans work just as hard, he doesn't have a personal coach, they have a head coach/manager(Cella) and a strategy coach(Ryu) Seriously, people saying money is why Koreans win????????? Are you joking????

This is the sign of a true professional and true champion. When MMA goes to a tournament he doesn't go to dick about and meet friends. He's there to win.

MVP has neither of those things, and everyone would agree that he would have done the same as MMA in this tournament. What's your point? Notwithstanding the fact that MMA doesn't have his own personal coach, and his team being Terran-centric actually hurts his other matchups (especially TvP), your argument would only pertain to MMA, and not the Korean scene, as the original poster was alluding to.

I think he had a window to maybe punish MMA if he went for something that hit hard off 2 base. Still a great run, and a fun tournament all around with some great games and series. Cheese is usually defined (more or less) as a strategy that relies on surprised/denied scouting in order for it to be fully effective, and can be easily stopped if the opponent reacts to it. That's why there's cheese like Proxy 2-Rax/Gate, DT rush, 7-gate which relies on the opponent not reacting in time/properly, as well as CC/Nexus-first or Triple OC which is an 'economical' cheese because it can easily be punished if the opponent scouts it (and you don't react by bunkering or getting a good unit composition, like Marauders vs Roach).
