Yay you guys brought it back! The FXOpens were such underrated tournaments. Back then we didn't have the Korean Weekly or the KSL so this was the only way to watch Koreans outside of the GSL. I hope the tournament gets more viewers this time around.
The calibre of the first invites is setting the trend of the calibre of the rest of the invites. Be sure to stay tuned to the players as they come.
We are offering spots to the global elite. Not just KR but the games will be played on KR unless 2 foreigners hit each other, in which we will allow them to choose which server to play on.
Sick lineup indeed! You should try to get couple high level chinese players too, like WCG 2011 runner up XiGua, F91, and maybe even xiaOt. I know xiaOt is nowdays manager of iG but it would be great to see him play again.

Yeah I was going to ask about that. Since XiGua and xiaOt played in the last invitational and their participation would probably guarantee quite a lot of chinese viewers it would be a good move I think.

We have a good relationship with the chinese players if they are available im sure you will see a few around

The invite list isn't complete yet, it wont be an all Korean event stay tuned for other invites you wont be disappointed

I hope MKP is going to be on that list, so then he can make it 3 in a row!

Winner bracket winner will have a 2-0 lead going into the grand final.
Scratch that. We're going to have the grand final as a 2x Bo5, where the loser bracket winner has to win two best of 5s.
oh nice, so the lucky winner's bracket winner gets to use their life on the final if they need it. i can't wait to see 10games of Oz V Leenock in Feb, FXO fighting.
it's good to see fxo back into the tournament scene, your guys's tournaments have always been really fun to watch + very good production. fxoz fighting!!! PS: plz bring back some more Korean Koths, they were always a pleasure to watch, i never minded staying up until 3AM to watch them
I love the lineup..but to spice it up more it really needs more foreigners in it...it makes the "east coast" "west coast" competition blow up..hype and stuff...
Atleast i personally would find it more entertaining ..rather then a "mini korean star league" (and yes i saw Sase is in it..but just him)
Did you guys put an offer in to most Korean teams? Would love to see some IM guys (not talking about MVP/NesTea in particular), players like Yonghwa, Seed, Losira, etc.
Sick line up so far anway, pretty stacked over all. Really looking forward to it!
I've missed the FXOpenIS. It' fills a nice niche between the all-korean ESV events and the predominantly foreigner tourneys we see Koreans in and it's all proven Korean talent!
Where's MC? Pretty thin on Protoss in general but I think we all know having the President at these events adds something. Great list nevertheless, looking forward to it.

Apparently MC declined the invitation ^^. Also, I never understand why more people don't realize that this event is happening With so many great players, you would think so? Dunno how you guys could hype it more

They didn't accept, the FXO guys sent invitations to every Korean team/notable foreigners and I guess IM didn't accept, however every other team accepted and we have a few foreigners ^^

Why would anybody turn down an online invitational with quite a decent prize pool that's in the server you play on? Sometimes ESPORTS doesn't make sense to me.
I read once that IM has trouble with English, as in they don't have anyone like Jessica who can admin everything for them as they have decent English. This was a while ago so maybe it changed.

I have spoken with them a few times in Korea. I have not encountered a heavy english problem. Plus it was done via slog. Who speaks korean.

Because schedules are filled, people need time to make new tactics and refine them, when you have to play in all sorts of tournaments you have to show those tactics aswell....

But kinda odd that they won't even let their Code B players play don't you think..
This has to be one of the most stacked tournaments next to the GSL and maybe KSL right now. There isn't even an underdog, besides maybe Hyun/Ace?! Foreigners will have a really hard time even advancing to the R16, hope Sase or ToD can show what Korean-practice has taught them and hopefully, Jinro will finally break out of the semi-slump hes been in! Overall really excited for this even without IM-players, good luck to the 3 foreigners representing!
This looks really good, the only thing I wish for is a more diverse map pool. Tournaments like these can do wonders to promote new maps. Would you please consider adding some of the community maps pleaseeeee?
And also thanks for the great insights into the Korean progaming community Boss!
I'm hoping for HyuN to do really well, especially after hearing the guy play for 15 hours a day... plus, the guy always worked so damn hard for 6 years but never really had any success in SC1, which was always a pity to me.

What about the emperor? Was he invited?
More like ForGG/Polt/Leenock/Keen. That side of bracket is really stacked.

It's because we changed the date, and whoever created the Liquipedia page had the first date. I've changed it now ^^
looks like a great tournament, also I'm really pleased that some of your players have done so well recently and that you've see an ROI on your massive financial support, good luck with the tourney
Couple more questions, how many games will you guys be casting per broadcast? Will the broadcasts be live? When do you guys plan on releasing a complete schedule for broadcasting? Love what you guys are doing btw, it just really feels legitimate what you guys have been able to put together.

- 8 sets per broadcast. so between 4-6 hours long depending on game length. - Broadcasts are recorded but have all been done within a few days of being put on stream (dont want random errors, graphics to be tweaked etc) - Currently the only thing we haven't set in stone is the starting time for the initial cast(waiting on response from someone) We will be running the broadcast in a loop until the next days event. So it doesn't really matter when you tune into the stream, you can see all the games anyway! + they will be on you tube

Hm ok fair enough. Preparing for the inevitable I guess. Thanks for replying.

We didn't want to miss any match during the event so our only option was replays
Since I only want to subscribe for THIS month, and not have a recurring payment, when should I cancel to still be eligible for the prizes etc. but only be charged one payment of $4.99?

Yeah, we know. We hope to have FIS events every month, but regardless we're aware of the problem and will be making sure to alert all subscribers to cancel it at the appropriate time.
Anyway, on to business: this weekends matches are set (we will make LR threads on the day also).
Too many fantastic matches this weekend. I'm hoping more of my favorites win this time around, last week almost everyone I wanted to win (save for July) lost. I'm really looking forward to Jinro v. Hyun in the lower bracket. I keep hoping for a change in form from Jinro.
I have to say you guys have an excellent time slot for this event, the finals and absolutely nothing else is going on. Unlike the usual esv + nasl + ipl + ewm + playhem + mlg all fighting for viewers running at the same time. I expect this finals to get a ton of viewers.
