Please stop the tournament comparison discussion. Especially regarding players their runs (Stephano seems to be the current topic). Stay on topic and stick to the games. Consequences will be met out to further derailment.

In addition leave the usual out of this topic:

-Balance complaints
-Map complaints
-Stream complaints
-Caster/player bashing
-Off topic discussions

Logically continue this list with things that are obviously frowned
upon. Enjoy the free and wonderful event with loads of games and coverage!

imho Naniwa is through, because there is a 3 way tie now.

Sheth 1-1 3:2
Naniwa 1-1 3:3
ClouD 1-1 2:3

Sheth is 5-2, Nani is 5-3, Cloud is 4-4. Nani and Sheth through.

Depends if they consider direct results > mapdiff or the other way arround.
Anyways, seems like Nani advances either way.

It's confirmed map scores I think. Even if it's head to head results, Sheth>Cloud>Nani>Sheth, with no clear winner, so it will go to map scores. Sheth and Nani advances.

You can play the GSL format with BO1. It is just not round robin, where people who will advance for sure, throw their games.

His point was the GSL is played using Bo1s in the group stage.

So many games to come, on three streams (which actually show different games), 3 great casting duo's. I LOVE YOU DREAMHACK.

There is no reason (strictly from a format point of view) for not doing Bo3 in the group stages for GSL. That would potetionally triple the amount of games though.

the result would be the same if direct confrontation was the first tiebreaker. It's really not so hard to calculate.

I love watching Sheth play. Even when he loses....... Flanks and counterattacks constantly - feels like the way zerg should be played.

Plus loving the trolling on the tastosis stream... epic

You could translate a winner's/loser's match format into BO3 and change nothing (probably save time by avoiding tiebreaks) without issues.

The point of group play is to see how everybody in the group performs relative to everybody else, not relative to one other particular player. So going by map score makes total sense.

I like the dreamhack format way way way more.
My only complaint is that when there is a tie in points (won maps and h2h results don't matter)
The 2 players play a Bo1 to see who goes to the next round.
3way tie would be a bit more tricky tho

Would rather have Bo3 tbh, they've no more matches today, and could easily fit in a unstreamed couple of Bo3s

The point of group play is to see how everybody in the group performs relative to everybody else, not relative to one other particular player. So going by map score makes total sense.

It doesn't make total sense, since every player has different amounts of games played. For it to make sense, the third game would have to be played out every time, no matter the outcome of the first two.

For people saying Sheth "threw the match" because he was already through..

You understand that if Naniwa lost, he would be out of the tourney right? Naniwa, one of the strongest contenders to win the tourney, you don't think Sheth wanted to get rid of him so he doesn't knock him out later?

Jesus.

Stephano gave Cloud a free-win. Sheth gave Naniwa a free win. Equals out (For the conspiracy-lovers)
