DRG also lost a series yesterday in a tournament where everyone thought he might go undefeated, to a mid-level American nonetheless (GatoreD). That's why you play the games. Sometimes players play poorly in a game, one poor game doesn't mean that TOP's macro is shit or anything like that.

Of course you'd have to spread pretty well so you won't get everything EMP'd. Downside is that shield upgrades cost a ton, so players tend to skip it if they can Ofc, Mana had a lot of money banked, so he should have done it

It's not hard for Terrans to make themselves look macro better. I'd have loved to see how many units were queued in his rax.

The strength of the 4gate was warping up the ramp and now that's gone, so it -should- be easier to hold...but then again i haven't faced a 4gate since the new patch so i don't really know. So then you are just theory-crafting like everyone else does when a patch comes out? Like I said, when were sentrys ever the answer to stopping a 4gate? they weren't back then and they still aren't now. Its not like sentrys keep them completely away forever, you will have like 1 sentry by the time they hit and that will save you about 10 seconds of time until they get vision and warp up your ramp. Unless you play really weird and go like 3 sentrys before any other units it doesn't really matter, but like i said if you play greedy in anyway you will still lose.

He could just sat back, take a third and transition into hts like in game 1 which he won very convincingly. Its just so upsetting reading through some brainless comments in the LR threads. It's very standard to pressure with 2-3 colossus with range in PvT before T has very many vikings. The problem was not that he decided to pressure, but was that he lost a bunch of stalkers right before that engagement and committed too much on sniping the CC without killing it. After this he was very behind because TOP was free to focus on economy which meant that after the big engagement there was no way for MaNa to keep up in production.

People think his play is that bad, because he played that bad in Game 1 so obviously he is capable of playing of that poorly. I think everyone has a range of skill they play at, and perhaps game one was near the bottom of TOP's range, but clearly he plays that poorly sometimes. It is the same for Mana, he clearly played better in Game 1 than Game 3. TOP is an incredible player though, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the Finals.

Top was still ahead in army supply, I don't know if it was 40. But he sac'ed some units at Mana's 3rd to free up supply, as well he was mass muling (had like 3 or 4 CCs at his third) so he had a larger army with less SCVs.

Top was producing like 20 units per cycle. And he "didn't make himself look better in macro" He macroed better. After the engagement Top climbed up in supply quite fast. Get real man

Doesn't change the fact that his army supply lead was in existence on the map. Now it's excusable for MaNa to lose because he failed to keep up with warp-ins?

That's my point, the decision to pressure is the good decision, but the engagement itself was what cost him, whereas you seem to be saying he should just stay back...
