If you don't know how to post in a live report thread by now, be advised: don't whine about game balance and don't bash players/casters/interviewers/staff/other posters. We are monitoring this thread closely.
Stop with the USA USA chant shit. Further offenses beyond page 493 will be met with bans. You've been warned.

In short: NA still quite doesnt know who is this Stephano dude and has hard time to identify itself with such a weird phenomenon. EU has figured it out for quite a while and is pretty proud to have birthed another international competitive beast.
Meanwhile, KR is like "get those replays we gotta have to retro-engineer this shiznit AFAP. This kid shall not pass!!".
And no, I doubt the Koreans are worried about Stephano. They probably see him as another foreigner who comes to Korea expecting to make it big yet get eliminated in the first round of Code A. Maybe he'll prove them wrong, who knows?
Those with a clue will respect him and have been respecting him for some time now. Then there are always a bunch of ignorant ones to anything not going down on their home turf. Much like we've seen on TL for some weeks now.
Those with a clue? You mean MC back when he was winning two GSL Code S Championships, who said Thorzain was the only opponent he was worried about at MLG? What about the hottest Zerg on the block, DongRaeGu, who said he never felt so much pressure from anyone when he inched a victory in Dreamhack over the same player? For months, people kept crying out "send Thorzain to Korea!" "Thorzain is the best foreigner, imagine him in Korea! He'll grow even faster than Huk!" Then over the summer we hear that it's not only Thorzain going, but Naniwa as well? Oh shit, breaking news, SaSe making it three Swedes? Pretty much the best Europe had to offer at the time flew to Korea with the weight of the foreign scene on their shoulders. And what happened then? Looks to me like you guys got tired and are looking for someone else to spearhead your Foreigner-revolution that will take Korea by storm!
Now you have this kid. This seemingly loveable French prodigy. He wins ONE foreign tournament - and people are suddenly claiming he's top Code S quality? Either you guys are sadistic and you love to see the players you support get taught a lesson by the Korean Gods, or you guys seriously don't see the difference in level of play between EU/KR.
Pretty much this minus the EU hate. I don't hate the EU for fielding beasts who crush the foreign scene. But yeah, stop tripping all over yourself before you see Stephano versus the very best.
I don't think he'll do much in Korea, the play and the rythmin are so different there, and right now Millenium doesn't have any agreement with a korean team. But a couple of month there could bring him great experiences, so he should do it and then come back to win tournaments in us/eu.

Winning this tournament was an amazing feat, and only those knowing the difference between the korean and the european scene can really grasp its magnitude.
I still don't see why it is necessary to vehemently play down Stephano's skills, when the hype level after this victory is nothing out of the ordinary. Why do people not say he needs to be tested against even stronger opposition, leave it at that, and acknowledge his success?

Yes I mean exactly people like MC, DRG and MMA. Just like how they respected and still respect Thorzain. They acknowledged Thorzain's abilities but at the same time they know fully well that one month is a very short time for someone to break into the Korean scene, one day even less which was the case for Thorzain. MMA and Ryung would have loved to have him around longer though.
In the same sense, those players(and many others) recognize the undeniable(undeniable for everyone but some TL-netizens and Baghdad Bob) potential in Stephano, and will respect him as an opponent. He may lose all of his games in Korea if he decides to participate in Code A, but that's irrelevant. There are a million and one factors deciding results in isolated matches but you can bet your ass they'll respect him.

Are you sure about that? He already had the date at which he will arrive in Korea, sounds weird to already book a flight if no arrangements have been made. I doubt he'd even consider going to Koreaif he was to live in the GOM house.
As a live attendee to the event, putting the LoL finals on at Sunday night was a terrible idea. Many people could not stay at the casino Sunday night and it just kept getting delayed... The way Rachel tried to basically tell the crowd to not leave or your killing Esports was pretty amusing but of course I left. You can't expect someone who doesn't play LoL to sit in a crowd also disinterested for 2 hours. There were no more than 10-15 people watching the LoL games in the first place so I don't know man...
There is nothing wrong with being ahead of schedule...

You know he just doesn't wanna get roflstomped. Then come up with an excuse like jet lag.

I had the same experience. I went over to the Bally's area thinking there would be swarms of league of legends fans there...no one. Back in the Circus Maximus it was very dead (although this is when I got to meet Apollo, inControl, and Anna ^_^). Overall I think live attendance for the event was very very low due to the venue. 21+ only was a very bad decision in hindsight.

no because he's not interested at all to stay in korea like huk or jinro etc. its hard to understand?
Hater's are gonna hate. What stephano did in IPL was great. No, that does not mean that he will own code S. That does not mean he will win MLG. It does not mean he's the best foreign player. It's just like in tennis, winning a Masters 1000 is great, beating a no 1. ranked player is great, but it doesn't mean you are the best at anything, it means you had a good tournament. What shows you're a good player? Consistency. Results. If say...Stephano gets into the next semi-finals of the next 10 foreign tournaments, yes he's a very good player, consistent and shows good results. I'm really optimistic for him and I hope he does well in the the upcoming tournaments.

If I was successful in one part of the world, so much that I'm wrecking the scene hard, why would I bother traveling to a far away place where I would surely get roflstomped? I totally get why he would say that, look what happened to the last ones who tried their hand in Korea. In fact, I'd be happier just letting the fans discuss what could have, should have, would have. At least it keeps my name alive longer, amirite?

No you're wrong. Why do you keep posting when you have no idea what has been said? Stop hating, it was cute for a bit, but is repidly losing it's charm.

There's not been more than a handful of foreigner (with potential) that have really tried in Korea. Just going over for a month or so doesn't really count as trying.
