The point of a push is to take space, not to do damage or kill your opponent immediately. In Sc2, the only unit that controls space is the tank, so it's way overused, but in BW you could push with tanks, lurkers, defilers, reavers, ect. Sometimes a push becomes an attack if your opponent loses their army, and sometimes an attack becomes a push if it gets slowed down but you get a contain of sorts. But the goals of a push and an attack are completely different.

I watch BW, I love BW, but I think the observer panels/controls are something SC2 did right!
