The three players that will represent Korea at the 2011 World Cyber Games Grand Finals will be determined through the WCG Korea tournament, a 32 player tournament that will run over the course of 8 weeks starting this weekend on September 24th. This tournament will be run and broadcasted by Korean cable channel Ongamenet in Korea.
As a service for our premium users, GOMTV.net will re-broadcast this production live and unaltered for all users that own one of the following active premium tickets: GSL October, Arena Of Legends, GSTL Season 1. A stream for non-premium users will not be available. This only pertains to the WCG Korea national tournament, information regarding the broadcast of the WCG Grand Final event will be released when available.
The 8 highest ranked GSL players (as of LG 3D Cinema Super Tournament) have been seeded into the WCG Korea tournament. The remaining 24 players have been determined through the WCG Korea qualifiers that have been held in August.
The 32 players to compete for a spot to represent Korea in the Grand Finals are:
GSL seeded: MVP, NesTea, MC, MarineKing, Polt, July, Nada, San
The WCG Korea tournament will run for 8 weeks every Saturday and Sunday starting at 1PM KST, the final being on November 13th.
For more information please visit the schedule page on GOMTV.net which will be updated soon.
WCG Korea Period: 24th September - 13th November Broadcasting days: Saturday and Sunday from 1PM KST (except for the final rounds which will be held at the G*Star event) Production: Ongamenet
Games: Starcraft II (complete tournament), Warcraft III (only finals)
Stream and VODs: GOMTV.net Price: Free for GSL October, Arena Of Legends, GSTL Season 1 (one of these tickets is sufficient)
Games will probably be of a higher level than the Grand Finals.
But the Grand Finals will still be more fun to watch, nothing beats the Korea vs NA/EU storyline and rooting for your home team when watching a SC2 tournament. :D

i believe that should be a no, because you don't own the copyright to ogn's broadcast.

For the love of that let that be the case. I don't want to miss WCG just because I didn't buy GSL tickets.

Please stream it, I want korean commentators so bad...
I better be able to watch GTR stream. If GOM interferes Im going to be pissed big time And hopefully there will be VODs from it uploaded on nevake. Pretty please, moktira?
As I have a ticket for October it makes no difference to me but Im happy to see OGN and GOM working together. We can only hope this means there is a chance we will see SC2 on OGN soon. If that would happen I just hope they dont remove BW to do it though (but they wont).

According to GOM, yep!
omg so happy, also it says mkp/hero are playing tonight but are they in the same group ala code S round of 32 so will they play each other or just boXs against their opponents as listed.. seriously i am bad at finding this information through wcg :[ sorry for stupid questions
Yeah, next live on GOM site is WCG (when you hover your mouse over the "Go Live", it says "Next live starts in 11 hours") Arena of Legend is at 17 KST so in 15 hours. So WCG will be on code A time, 6AM Europe, or 13 KST.
Not to bitch but i dont see why they should charge if they arent adding anything to the stream such as english commentary. I know gom has the broadcast license but im hoping ogn will allow restreams. Gom currently blocks the korean sc2 stream and i would hate to see ogn go that way.

They aren't really *charging* people for it. They're just offering the rebroadcast as a bonus to paid members....bandwidth cost money. You can find the original stream on your own on the internet if you don't want to go thru gomtv.

People have been restreming ogn broadcasts for years so I doubt they'd start caring now.

YESS KOREAN CASTING WOOT
omg BOXER is casting???
Let the gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaames begin.
Also, if you look in the right places, you can easily find GSL SC2 VODS with korean commentary if you like that(better then English in terms of excitement but nothing compared to giants such as the current OGN staff and Kim Min Chul/ Lee Seung Won)

No english, Boxer and..TheMarine (was a fan of his in my young days TT) casting <3
YESSS, I love TheMarine. And Boxer <3
I hope many people catch this, no offence but I always felt that the Korean casters injected a lot more energy into their casting and thus it was more fun.

Ah yeah I know of the korean website but had trouble finding anything besides gisado VODs, i forget the problem but i'll try again xD
This is just my theory, but I think a GOM/OGN partnership will happen (once Anibox's GSL broadcasting rights expire). Gom will license the KR broadcast to OGN but will continue operating the English stream as normal. OGN will help the GSL grow in Korea and Gom gets to keep all the revenue from the English stream. Win/win for everyone involved.

I´d rather have 2 coexisting leagues a la MSL and OSL.

That'd be nice but Gretech still has the exclusive rights to sc2 in Korea for another year or two. Maybe Blizzard will open up negotiations with Ogn, but I think it's more likely that Gom comes to an agreement with Ogn before then.
Also I trust Gom more in terms of providing English casting. Even in the BW days, Gom was the only one who reached out to the English-speaking audience.

GOM is not earning any money from this, they are doing it as a bonus for their premium users. But yeah while i don´t mind the restream I´d encourage people to support GOM anyways(and buy the Team League pass because Team league is awesome )
In this case I don´t think its a huge deal, but thats up for the admins to decide anyways

Shame that they are only broadcasting the Finals. Its been a long time since I saw W3. I know there are Chinese leagues but I don´t know where to start XD

The team league pass is worth it just for the VoDs from IM vs MVP. I've bought every single pass so far, because <3 eSports.
