While not flawless, these are some of the best maps the foreigner community has come up with in the past few months. I'm actually not a fan of one of them in particular (don't wanna name a name tho ^^):X but for the most part I am sure that at least a few of these maps will become highly regarded in the not-so-distant future. Barrin got it right. Playing the same old maps ~~ boring and repetitive. If the NASL is putting part of its reputation on the balance of these maps then potential competitors should stop posting and start practicing on them. I like this choice, I like these maps and I will watch the NASL open bracket with more excitement than the NASL!

Eventually someone needed to make the first step to include "good" maps (these are awesome) into the tournament scene. It seems like NASL was the only tournament who was audacious enough to include these new maps. (I know GSL has their custom maps as well, but those aren't as much of community maps IMO) You're a great player desrow, but I feel its not your place to criticize such a giant step forward for the SCII community, just because you don't feel like taking 3 or 4 hours to learn a few new maps.

It's my place to criticize tournament settings who involve tournament PLAYERS I'm sure a few notable players will whine and complain once they hear about this

Some of these maps will be in Season 3 of NASL.

TPW Concrete Dreams: Smaller and tighter version of Terminus SE, without the "free" third. TPW Lunar Station: Xel'naga Caverns inspired map, with the center reminiscent of Jungle Basin. TPW Ohana: Beach themed map with two alternatives for a fourth. The two highground-expansions in the middle will be key in the lategame. TPW Emerald Jungle: Top versus bottom spawns with several alternatives for a third. Reminds a bit of Abyssal Caverns. TPW Overgrown: Very similar to Shakuras Plateau, but with a few key differences: several large paths through the middle, large ramps to the natural (no 3 rax wall-off) and no half-island expansions. TPW Damage Inc.: Forced cross spawns. So it is 2 2-spawn maps in one. The mains are very different between pairs, one with a flat choke to both main and natural while the other has a more normal design. TPW Odyssey: A very standard map with an easy to hold natural and a simple expansion pattern curving along the side of the map. It has already been used sucessfully in ESL Go4SC2 Cup. TPW Artifice: Your standard 4-spawn rotational map, worked well in Map of the Month Tournament. TPW One Must Fall: A port of the BW map Carthage. Hope this helps a bit for you who are unsure.

Test the maps before the tourney not use the tourney to beta test This tournament is partially to serve as a more official testing ground for these maps. But I'd like to also point out that several of them have won the "map of the month" award and are quite solid.
