I know what you mean. That's the reason I don't watch TvZ, it's takes so long and i wont play this match-up, but from the "no-player spectator" point of view, I think is better to watch good maps that i dont play, then bad maps that i play

I wonder if this is the start of a rivalry between TPW and ESV fighting for spots in all the big and small tournament's map pools. Should be interesting but it's good to see you use custom maps from anyone!

Want to start it off by saying why you like TPW maps more than ESV ones Xeris

TPW contacted me about it and we worked something out. I think the iCCUP/ESV team contacted me several months ago but there wasn't any followup, TPW wanted it more ? We're just happy to be including some custom maps :D!

Isn't it unfair to the players to base their qualification into a very important tournament on maps that nobody has really played before? What if there is some exploit discovered a day before the event that allows one race to win almost every match on that map? Doesn't that remove the legitimacy of the entire tournament?

I would love some sexy new maps, but wouldn't implementing one or two maps at a time as the first map in a match be a better way to get them played? I just don't understand the thought process behind making every map in the pool a map nobody has played on before.

I believe all the TPW maps have gone through the MOTM system, which should work out any easily discovered "exploits". I'm not sure what could be discovered that breaks a map completely in favour of one race that isn't easily discovered. The likelihood of finding something game breaking a couple days before the tournament is probably very slim, and the admins should be able to just remove it from the map pool if it does happens.

Beyond that, it leaves all the players on the same playing field, with two weeks to learn a bunch of new maps. I guess in two weeks we will see if that was a good idea, or a bad one.

NASL having the balls to use all new maps for its tournament. Very nice to see. Hopefully this is the start of something great for the foreign map making community.

Finally new maps! Hopefully this is an experiment to see which of the maps are the best so that maybe next season we see at TPW map in the main map pool.

If you DO find something you think is game-breaking, please contact us too and not just NASL. Then we might have a chance at correcting it before the tournament.

Unfortunately we cannot upload them on SEA at this time, because we do not have a SEA account. That will come in time, and I hope we will be able to host maps on all regions in the future.

This one has 8 players qualify, next one which will be the following weekend will also have 8 players qualify.

What?! I play Protoss, and TvZ is the best and most exciting matchup in the game. I implore you to try and watch it again, it's soooo fun to watch!

Anyway. While I think that a tournament of entirely new maps is quite extreme and could possibly go wrong, I think the idea is really good. It's certainly much better than sitting on the same old map pool for months on end. Hopefully these maps are all good, and will bring some great games.
