Would have to disagree. Think about MSL or OSL Ro32 group stages. If you're out, you're out. No up and down matches. You have to go through all the qualifiers again which are the equivalent to the MSL and OSL prelims. Granted, the good players will make it through those prelims again, but this should be the case in Sc2 as well.

Now in the GSL, this only happens to the 4th place player. 3rd place gets to go to up and down, with a chance to stay in Code S. Anything higher than that and you are in equal or better shape. Pretty good deal, imo.

Actually I think the 3rd place gets to stay in code S and the 4th place player goes to up and down?

Yep. 3rd place stays code S, 4th goes into one of the three 5-man up/down pools.

3rd stays in code s, 4th to up and down, nobody can drop from code s to code b (unless you're rain)

even though i love byun and many of the other players that dropped to up&down, i really don't care whether they drop to code a or not, it's really enjoyable to watch good players instead of having my face melted by tassadar all-ins like last season

I don't understand, are you saying you didn't like Tassadar's all-ins, or are you saying that you didn't like to see Tassadar get 1/1/1'd back to code A ?

i meant tassadar all-ins as in the ones tassadar did ^^

him getting shat on i enjoyed though

Ahh, how can you possibly like that ;>.
Tassadar showed some good play, and great timing pushes, and then he just gets all-in'd 4 times , even f you don't like him you gotta admit that just sucks xd.
It appears I have been chosen.

Its only the 4th that needs to need go to the up and downs so technically you can have it nobody out of a group drops.

came down to ghosts vs HT and asd had better control whearas Puzzle's HT were clumped up and had pretty poor control.

hmmm you say that, but if feedback was AOE and EMP single target, im sure the result woulda been different

This. sick of terran comments on spliting HT when u cant split your army to dodge storms

AOE feedback and equal ranges would actually be fair. Both players would have to split and be extremely careful. ATM Terran can be all "lets walk towards you with my better range and spam emps cos you can't kill my ghosts in time!"

Wow, how can you say that if you have ever actually played the game... jesus christ...

All this comparison between HTs and ghosts is just plain stupid. They are close to each other in some ways, but they are vastly different. HTs are not ghosts, and ghosts are not HTs. Each have their strengths and weaknesses but one doesn't completely dominate the other in all aspects.

Ghosts dominate templar.

Big bioball obviously dominates toss gateway stuff. So get through the templar and Toss is done. Ghosts dominate templar because they have TWO abilities which kill ghosts, and BOTH outrange the only thing templar have against ghosts. Oh and they can cloak and emp the toss ball and all that jazz too.

Again, why the hell is this about unit vs. unit when sc2 is an ARMY vs. ARMY game as well as much, much more. A million broodlords can never take out a viking! overpowered!! You basically just said the same thing I said is stupid to say because making comparisons like that is just wrong.

Maybe it should be different, but basically whoever wins ghosts v templar in PvT wins the war. So direct comparisons in this case make sense.

Code S is kinda rough, as you can totally draw two really bad map/matchup combos and find yourself in the up/downs right quick. However, making the picks for this round is really important and shouldn't be overlooked.

Exactly. But for 2 seasons now, nearly all players are making crazy hard picks (as Artosis said earlier "I would pick a fish !" instead of "This guy beats me on ladder everytime so i pick him" which is what one player did)

Metal/Xelnaga aren't actually "good maps". They just better than the crap we had at the beginning. So relatively they are good but in an absolute sense they aren't ;<
