Does the ESL have a really bad reputation or something? I am not well-acquainted with the EU scene.
ESL does(did?) have a bad reputation of unpaid price money. Not sure if they've paid it all back now.
Source please? Those are pretty bad accusations.
popped up here and there, i think huk and qxc had some problems with that due to some misunderstandings or something but got it sorted out
german players generally say (in a german sc2 podcast) that ESL takes up to 6months to pay up but everybody seems to know that by now anyway so they (the players) don't really care about it if i remember correctly

I would really like them to show some WoW actually, without the promise of sc2 afterwards, so we can see the stream figures plummet from 65k to like 15k!
Since there is no promise of WoW today we can safely assume that most of the viewers are sc2 fans, or WoW fans that got hooked - which makes this a truely BIG tourny.

and is a troll
Can't agree with you more. I don't know why he pointed that out, "I won't translate that". I mean, seriously? Why not? With that kind of tone I don't know if your a good person for the job. Get someone else or try act more positive, it's part of the job.
Anyhow, great play by thorzain!
He said he wasn't gonna translate the mules are imba part with a smirk on his face. How is that being negative. People need to relax...
He also "thanked" Thorzain for giving a long, technical answer to a question. Passive-aggressive translator is passive-aggressive. People are saying he has other stuff on his plate, whatever, they should get someone to translate who isn't going to treat it like a chore.
Seriously guys, the translation is only a formality, the crowd speaks English just fine.
I really like Nerchio/Tarson interviews in Polish though, that's where Carmac's translation skills are better spent imo.
No one is complaining about mules allowing terran to have an equal economy. It's just stupid game design that the greediest terran opener can hold off an all-in four gate and go down to 12 workers to 27 probes and they'll be in a better position than the protoss, whereas there are so many different ways terran can punish a fast protoss expansion. If you go down to 12 probes on two nexuses versus a one basing terran you are completely dead though. Hopefully they've learned for Heart of the Swarm. Maybe replace chronoboost and mules with other things and change the larva mechanic a bit to lower zerg's econ on an equal level.

nah, dont think so. Nothing special about this event's production. Best in europe in term of production is DreamHack.
? What do you mean with production? They were delayed for several hours, there are no player booths, the interviewers are very unprofessional (never even turning towards the crowd or camera). From what I've heard the WoW players are being screwed over because blizzard hasn't installed WoW on their computers yet, too. Oh, and the "HD" stream isn't remotely close to HD, i.e. nowhere near the quality of dreamhack.
But on the positive side it's free, there are some interesting players and the casting duo could be worse.
? You misread my post. The poster I qouted said that this is the best production, I DISAGREE with him which put me on the same view point as you
You don't understand the game! Most of the people always want to just own other people and if there will be a OP Unit in the Beta, it will be abused like if there will be no tomorrow.
This is why beta is always hilarious imo. That units that are OP people say are balanced like reapers/2 armor 1 food roachs RIP.
watching that terran preview video from before the beta started was awesome, banshees had splash and reapers could lay mines
Ghosts calling down drop pods full of marines... x_x

I played wow for a long time (pre cataclysm) and liked it, but when I watched it at MLG last year it was really terrible I guess when you have a team to cheer it can be cool to watch, but still it makes an horrible spectator sport I feel. Need to be an hardcore fan knowing the scene and have favorite players to enjoy watching that imo.
