I might be wrong here (correct me if i am) but isn't this a thread to discuss about the Code A qualifiers? not a thread to discuss/argue about how strong/imba/whatever you want to whine about 1-1-1 all ins

6 Zerg, 9 Protoss (include Choya or Nextreme), 13 Terran (including Maru or Lyn), 4 left to determine.

(edit: I can't add up to 32, sheesh)

No, they didn't. They got seeded in by GOM.

I was wondering about that too, I'm pretty sure the supply was reversed for the players.

Lol what a complete joke. I've lost all respect for Ganzi for doing this versus protoss every time he might lose a real set.

Give the guy a break. He's fucking jetlagged.

No? Why would I give him a break? He did what he had to win but he's not going to get any respect from me and I doubt he cares. But this recent trend of every terran doing it in important situations is a joke and unfair to protoss competitors who work just as hard as them to get where they are. His protoss opponents who were just trying to play a solid game should be the ones getting a break, not someone using a retarded build because they're jetlagged.

Blame the game or shut up.

No?

It's a strategy, it's not undefendable and since it's so common it should be expected as soon as you see banshee opening. Obviously his protoss opponent didn't work very hard if he didn't know how to properly respond to a recurring build.

Really? Tell me how it is not undefendable if the terran executes it correctly. Please direct me to one game a terran has lost doing this in the GSL where he didn't make an obvious error.

It's only just regained popularity in the gsl so I don't have an example, but choya beat jinro at mlg when he was going for it by going stargate.

Yeah, he did an all-in against Jinro, the only one that counters 1-1-1 (and doesn't in all cases, the viking if micro'd properly can hold it off---I've seen plenty of times when this has happened, for example a replay of MC v. Apocalypse, where Apocalypse then went out and rolled MC), and loses to many other things as well. You want PvT to become 1-1-1 all-in and 3gate voidray every game, then?

If those are the strategies that work sure, sometimes matchups are like that (see BW ZvZ). Until it gets fixed it will be used, it's just another shift in the meta game. Just like 5 rax reaper or khaydarin amulet HT. Gonna leave it at this and get back on topic for this thread.

Sheth was invited, HuK was invited.
HuK was one round away from qualifying (as was Incontroll, Kiwikaki) in GSL 2 or 3. MC then wore the HuK hoodie because he was placed against the guy who knocked out HuK

EDIT: Ret/Sen/Haypro/Idra/Jinro qualified in GSL3 as well And all elimated/left (besides Jinro). Ret and Haypro were invited again and lost again. I believe Tgun/Torch/qxc tie for closest foreigners since (all losing in round 4. tgun to maru, torch to idk, qxc to DRG)

Artosis said he has heard about thebest playing "insane macro games" lately. Then again, it's artosis and he tends to hype things up. Macro game might mean 2 port banshee
