It's way more efficient to use a lower number of gates. Only time the mass gates is important is when cooldown is a factor. And considering Kiwi owned the whole map cooldown was not important. He played it correctly. When you have 7000/3000, you can use 20 gates. It allows you to trade armies with a terran, then make 100 supply in 30 seconds, enough to overrun them before they can remake their own army. If you keep production slow, you will take forever to actually finish off terran. You can use 20 obviously, but the supply cap is still 200. It's stupid to create a ton of useless buildings. That's called a waste. He drops 10+ more gates then the terran hero drops and snipes a couple of his expos then he's broke then what? All so he could have some useless gates? He can maintain 200 supply off his gate count anyway. He had 7k 3k. If he went broke off of that without facerolling his way to victory he's bronze league. And Kiwikaki is not bronze league.
I don't get your argument. He should throw away half his resources just because he's pro enough to take a needless risk? Against terrans who can always drop? Seems pretty unnecessary.

When you're maxed and floating 5k+, it's standard to put down an ass load of gates so you can re-max instantly. Think about it.

TvP late game battle are so funny from the micro point of view :D Except EMP's are x20 easier to land than Storms. And Protoss actually has unit formation where as Terran doesn't Actually EMP's are X23.69 easier to land than Storms. It is known. It is known. I was thinking about this myself today. Why is it that storm is so much weaker than fungal and EMP?
For damage the opponent can't really dodge EMP (because it's instant) or fungal (because it keeps them stuck). Now if the opponent can't really dodge it (hydras off creep or things that got FF'd) storm is amazing damage.
When it comes to anti-caster though infestors don't have much (technically you could NP them I guess but then you just lose the infestor and they get their unit back) templar have single target with damage and ghost have the AoE.
Note as well that the ghosts are the toughest, fastest and have cloak, templar have a recycle and infestors have ... squat.
So, to summarize: - Ghost : most resilient (tough+cloak), great anti caster and decent damage against toss (great versus archon), poor damage against T or Z for the most part. Ghost also have an attack making them have a use even without casting. - Templar : potentially highest damage but easy to dodge, decent anti caster, good secondary utility as archon. - Infestor : best damage versus units as it is guaranteed, occasional fun with ITs or NPs, sucks versus caster and has no secondary utility.
People tend to look at storms being dodged and whining about their templar but really all the units are equivalent and have their place. They are just way more different than they seem at first glance.

Lol, you are ignorant to say that. You think Korean scene is just code S and code A. There are other tournaments, such as LG tournament, GSTL, or Korean weekly ... You don't follow Code B players, so you don't follow Boxer, MMA, DongRaeGu, Sage, ... LOL
