When you scout a NO GAS pool expand from zerg you crono out STALKERS and run to the zerg forcing soo many freeking lings that he will be forced to stop droning and he wont be able to take a third.Nestea is getting ling speed at 10 freaking minutes into the game.Think about that. This is the point i'm trying to make.

Nearly impossible to get map control or pressure (especially on meta) due to ling run-bys and counter attacking being so effective. The moment the toss moves out, a stream of lings will go in. Its because toss doesnt have a unit mobile enough on the ground that we go phoenix to try to get mapcontrol by sniping overlords/taking units off watchtower, etc.

I wouldnt say hongun is playing well nor poorly, but simply his choice of strategy is poor - if he plays FE into stargate its a virtual loss at this point. Is this only because Nestea can predict it coming, or is it due to a weakness in the stargate opening in PvZ?

That's your excuse? MC may have played bad but how can you not expect the most basic pvp build that he himself used a lot? I'm pretty sure that the two best PvZ ratio (in GSL games not korean weeklys or tournaments like that) are MC and HongUn. Come on, PvP is such a coinflip mirror match up. And you will never expect, 3x 4gate in a BO5. You cannot determine MC's skills by just looking at his recently loses.

Hongun is playing very well, his force fields and unit compositions haven't been bad at all either. Where he's lacking is his strategies and this continual need to use stargates that Nestea is countering easily. The other problem is that Nestea is just doing great creating more time for himself to tech and drone up, and he builds good amounts of stationary defense, unlike most Zergs that seem to be giving away a piece of their soul to build an extra spore or spine crawler. MC wouldn't be playing this any better, he hasn't gone very far in the GSL or beaten his fellow Koreans in a tournament ever since 6 gate timing pushes have been somewhat countered. Not to say he's playing bad all of a sudden or his late game is awful, but he's just not dominating the way he used too and he hasn't won a tournament in a while. Nestea is just playing amazing and Hongun needs to stop with the Stargate tech (which MC does a lot against Zerg as well) and try for a different direction in tech and units. Building 4lings at the beginning=playing it safe. I agree with you, he's droning up when he can, which is all the time because Hongun refuses to attack until they're both at 100+ supply, which is not how you beat a zerg.

If you remember before the Nestea sCfOu games, sC was like... I beat Nestea all the time on the ladder. I think he'll be really easy. Then after the games sC said it was like facing a completely different person i think i heard Rotterdam say that Grubby used to do this all the time in WC3, before a tournament Grubby would do crazy stuff to practice and lose like 10 straight games, then go undefeated in the actual tournament. cool to see!
