Clearly, allowing the zerg to drone up too hard (aka no apparent pressure) or doing risky builds that has holes everywhere is not the way to do it. Its pretty hard to put pressure on the zerg for some of the GSL maps though, because of how big it is (giving them ample time to react). you really have to invest quite a lot into it, making it a near all-in in a lot of cases. If your pressure doesn't do damage, the games pretty much over more often than not.

So funny when ppl was crying about 3 protoss in the top3 @ Homestory cup, and that PvP was horrible when it turned out to be amazing games. This is going to be an amazing finals, no matter what.

Yeah but a week to prepare in BW is not the same as it is in SC2. Just look at how different games between koreans at foreigner lans look compared to the GSL.

OT: Nice to see fellow filipinos here in the forums. Back to the topic: IM's pretty strong considering they might have 3 champions for GSL if Losira wins. If not they will still have the only player who had a back to back GSL championship and 3 time GSL Champion. nice ![]()

Why are you acting like zergs somehow practice harder than all terrans and protoss? They just discovered the timings of any effective push finally, the most effective ones got nerfed, and now zergs know exactly when to drone to get a big lead, exactly like what happened in Nestea v Hongun. If all the best BW players came to SC2, the zerg players would be unstoppable just like Nestea seems. There are just too many game design flaws. Not even a balance whine, hopefully the design team noticed a lot of stupid things going on in the game that can be easily improved. Byun was so far behind in both Games 1 and 2 and did well to come back, was very close to winning in Game 2 also. It's not a design flaw. I still can't believe we're having these sorts of discussions these days.

Game 3 he went CC first on a big map on Tal'Darim, but scouted late so he got baneling busted. He tried to vary his builds but got countered in each game. to be fair, TSL_revival did that exact game 1 build the gstl (same matchup/map)

Code A Finals: PvP Code S Finals: ZvZ Last three finals all been the different mirrors. Now you can't complain any race didn't get their finals to shine.

Only a Zerg would be excited about ZvZ, because its by far the most confusing mirror matchup. Everyone can understand positioning of tank lines, and getting air dominance in a TvT, and PvP at least results in occasionally good to watch micro, but ZvZ with its concept of droning, teching and making units to counter your opponent (from what I understand, often blindly) is impossible to understand unless you play Zerg.

PvP is worse than ZvZ, true... but not by enough. They're both pretty boring to watch, in my opinion.

You are always that far behind vs zerg in the early game 20-40 suply and 20 workers is prety normal when entering the midgame.

Not entirely sure how he might have prevented a baneling bust after that, but still, I think an SCV loitering in your base my be a serious deterrant to even going for an early baneling nest. Still if you go for a risky build, you have to prepare yourself for counters and Byun just didn't. Even if Byun was late scouting, he should have prepared for the worst possible outcome when he decided to do a fast CC. The trade-offs is that he'll either be in good position or he won't die. Make a strong wall in-case of a baneling bust, if it's not going to happen you will still be a good position for the mid-game. Just teching immediately without locating the base was just poor decision making.

It's going to be between arguably the 2 best players in the match up (Zenio has higher elo, Losira has a better winrate though), it's very tense to watch, both players know each other well so the chances of something new being needed are pretty high, and there's a lot more flexibility in midgame compositions lately with lategame continuing to be explored. I'm actually really looking forward to it o-o
