Although I don't know what they mean by 'rail' or what gun that is. Like I don't know the name of the lightning gun thing and the laser gun. I'm assuming one is the railgun?
The ''spamming '' one is the lightning gun, the laser gun(which shoots 1 powerful laser but has a ''cooldown'' is the rail gun.

Honestly should have seen Halo2 which might have been most entertainign shooter i have ever seen. Should have seen Halo:CE, best console shooter ever Which doesnt really mean a lot ^^ I would not have a problem at all with Halo if it wasnt that they play it on an inferior format for competative gaming... indeed, console fps is a joke I understand saying a PC is the only way to play an RTS but you cant give me a good reason why an FPS has to be played on PC. (actually when Halo 1 was on PC it was terrible) The reason is that mouse+keyboard controls have no skill ceiling on how well you can aim, whereas there is a limit to how fast you can turn on a 360 controller, lol. Don't start with this PC elitist crap, If I took a top PC cs or quake gamer and made them play against pros on a console game they wouldnt get destroyed and exact same if I took a console pro and made them play on a PC. Actually I think if you put someone like avek/toxqj/cypher by himself vs an entire team of Halo pros working together, he would win. I would bet thousands of dollars on this. (In Quake not Halo) Ok, you're one of those people who absolutely refuse to believe anything other then the "PC master race", no point arguing with you at all. Ok, you're one of those people who believe console FPS games are competitive, no point arguing with you at all. ANY game is competitive when there is a large base of players who compete in a specific game. Relax and just drop it... geez.

Oh ok cool thanks! So the lightning gun is actually called the lightning gun? I now understand why people were saying lg... :p

Think of it from MLG's pov - its a brand new product that they were already having issues with. The SC2 cast before it was laced with swear words from TLO/MrBitter/Ret which is huge nono and probably already left them uncomfortable. On top of that there are sponsors watching - MLG are promoting it a lot and when you have a loose cannon who has a history of shitting on you (teasing or not - sponsors dont care about that) it looks incredibly bad. I'm not surprised they yanked 2GD - i'm more surprised Slasher convinced everyone to give him shot (after dreamhack). Whats he going to do next - say that Astro is a shit brand and that he only uses Razer headsets? The trust is gone at that point.
I think 2GD is really entertaining, and his BM is pretty funny - but don't pull your bitch-forks out when it bites him in the ass. It's not surprising; both TL and MLG are organisations that take themselves way too seriously and are really out of touch with most of e-sport, so... Is there something about being from that part of the world that makes one butthurt?

You didn't even read my comment correctly. I said that Console pros will beat the best pc pros on in a console game and vice versa. Please read what I wrote Just as Rapha would own the entire Halo team in Quake, one Halo player would own 4 Exactly, It's nice to see some people are understanding my point and actually read what I said properly. You didn't even have a point. You responded to someone that said m+k has a higher skill ceiling because of practically infinite precision, unlike a console controller, which is true, and said blabla PC elitist blabla. You're the one that started this argument over nothing. You asked for it. What did you expect? Either you are quoting the wrong person or you haven't been reading what I said You replied to this:

My take on the whole PC vs Console discussion is this: Watching console games is a bit like watching handicap basketball. Sure, it can be fun, but you know it's not really the "real thing"

They may no be able to get headshots, but good fundamentals.
That more fun to watch.

As long as the quake pro has time to get used to the game and the maps, and can use a keyboard and mouse versus the console player, I'd put my money on the quake pro any day.

Sure, it can be fun, but you know it's not really the "real thing" I think that we should refer to carmac's wisdom here, it doesn't matter if you think that it is a legitimate esport, what matters is that people enjoy watching it and that is what makes it a esport.

Yep seems very similer to every other shooter. You want power weapons and to be in the power positions. Often times power weapoons arent at power positions so u have to get weapon and go to position.

There are two different types of armors. One red and one yellow. The Red gives you 150 armor, the yellow only gives you 50. When they say "yellow" they mean the yellow armor.
There are also life pickups, the largest is called the "mega" and gives 100 hp. So, if they say mega they mean a blue sphere worth 100 hp. If they talk about shards, they are small things who spawn in lines and give 25 hp each.

Ok so another question, how do these guys know exactly where the other guy is (for the most part anyway)? Is there some mini map the players see or audio clues (when someone takes a weapon or something)? I'm so confused how they don't usually run up on someone facing the complete wrong way.

they hear footsteps, item pickups to relate to and also anticipate their opponents position by using logic =)
