He doesn't have a TLPD entry yet. He's not on a team yet, but judging by previous teamless Code A qualifiers, he'll probably be picked up soon enough.

What's the point? its the qualifiers, and the best players got through.
Hypothetically, consider DRG, QXC and Hero to be the three greatest Starcraft 2 players in the universe. They are all placed in the same Code-A qualifier mini-bracket. All other players in the other mini-brackets pale in comparison to these three. Hypothetically, the best players will not go through because 2 of the 3 greatest players in the world are eliminated.
A double elimination style qualifier would likely increase the likelihood that the best players go through. Also, a double elimination would reduce the unfortunate circumstances when two or more excellent players are placed in the same mini-bracket.
gomtv don't have the time to run double elimination.
there's nothing wrong with this format. it's been used for offline qualifiers for osl/msl since their inception back in 2000/01.
i guess people are just bitter and are looking for excuses for their players.
What? What does that have to do with anything about his point? All he is saying is that double elimination is a better way to get the best players from a tournament. That's undeniable.
so according to this logic, triple elimination is even better than double elimination.
Yeah.. it is. Round robin is best. Nobody said anything about time constraints.
lol, round robin for a qualifier? so people need to play 16*15 bo3 just to get 1 winner for code a spot? Great idea!

Absolutely. The more games you play, the more likely it is that the cream is going to rise to the top.
There is a reason why most tournaments are single eli, they are practical.

Bo5 is also better than Bo3. Wait Bo7 is even better.

And also less accurate in terms of crowning the better player... You can't have both.

Not particularly when the skill level is already so high.
Pretty much everyone who will qualify can take games off of anyone else who qualifies. Code A only has limited slots when there are probably 50+ people who easily have the "skill" to be in it (excluding code S; 50+ people not in code S who could be in code A), and a lot can depend on luck of the day, how they feel (if they are sick), etc. Sure it is more likely I suppose, but for any practical purpose it's just extra games played with only slightly different results (Regardless of format, many people with the skill will be left behind).

Nah, 2 bo7 is better than 1. Just like in football (or soccer) league, home and away. And we do this all in one day, last players standing (or alive) wins!

if the better get eliminated because of the format, ... wait.
I expect Moonan to do pretty well, but tgun I think might have a more difficult time just because SEA server is not as competitive as KR, still I think he's doing pretty good on XNC, GL FXO
