If he had 20 something workers against 60....he's pretty behind

Lalush manages to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. LOL

When you're behind 65 to 20 workers yeah, you're pretty far behind. The only reason BratOK was able to come was because Lalush spammed roaches into tanks. If he had just continued to mass mutas or even tech'd to broodlords it would have been a pretty easy win.
|
Yeah worker count was pretty even if you include mules, but Brat had a hugely inferior army. Basically the only way he could've won is if lalush kept on making roach, which he did.
Most higher tech would've trashed brat. Heck, even nydus abuse would've worked vs such an immobile army.

Lalush had atleast 3 options there: Transition into Broodlords, Nydus the main, Zergling counter into the natural, baneling drop(?). He just stuck to running roaches into tanks; even a massive economy can't support that forever.

Was that a reference to Idra vs Cruncher or am I imagining things? =P In either case, looking forward to seeing some nice games

ehm, remembering broodwar mech terran vs zerg i can ensure u guys it's not as easy as just "switch to mutas n00b".
The main mistake Lalush made was putting the 4th expo too close to his bases so it was very easy for Brat to put pressure on it and force direct responses from zerg.
I'd say this map favours strong campy deathballs too hard.
p.s. god job upgrading, brat :> p.p.s. @commentator, be very careful when saying smthn like "just build mutaz, bro" it sounds quite unprofessional as it wasn't actually the absolute best response in that position anyways...

It's funny seeing only Bo3's for the semis and finals when we saw some bo5's in the earlier rounds, understandable though given it's the previous rounds that determines who makes it or not and these are just for seeding ^^
Not sure who I want to win, either way I'm hoping BratOK takes the finals.

he had 20 vs 60 but then there were hellions roasting drones and evening up the score ;;

this also is not that simple and straightforward. Going broodlords with terran so close to one of ur main mining expoes gives him huge timing window to push. I'd say that with such a tense game doing smthn that crazy would turn out pretty bad for the zerg player.

I actually enjoyed that game, even though it was fast and mainly one battle, it was just a smart move and cloud did not have his bunker up in time.

I think that while Lalush made a terrible mistake in not switching techs (Should have gone into BLs), BratOK played a beautiful game from a terrible position.
-He fortified and secured a forward PF, which pretty much gave him control of the center of the map + eventual access to top expos if needed. -Upgraded all the time -He kept his macro up the whole time, even when lalush went for the main, 5+ tanks were quickly finished and easily defended -He constantly harassed with BF hellions, almost looked like vultures (Mines )

You don't need to counter Mech head on. Yes, Broodlord with Infestors are obviously a solution, but a damn costly one and you can't always get it in time.
Drop would have been the deal breaker here. What are Tanks and Thors are gonna do against Drops. Even more so in these positions, which are just perfect for Drop play. Defend against hellions ravaging your minerallines with tons of spines and walls and just drop the meching bastard to hell, while you build up whatever stuff you want (most likely Infestors or Mutas if he goes overboard with the Tanks and skips Thors).
Oh well..

cloud was able to hold on against that all in rather nicely, he had a risky cc first and he played great to take that game, i hope this next one is a great game.

Shortest TvT Bo3 in a while.
|
Well that was a LOT quicker than the lalush and bratok series, that is for sure.

A bit of a build order loss for ClouD in that last game =S
