You can buy items at the Market in Echo Isles.

How the hell does it ruin the balance? Items are chance and chance, like critical strikes, are part of the game.

Except the same creep spots give different items which leaves everything to chance, ergo ruins any balance, especially when it comes to the blademaster that gets exponentially better with items that add damage, and then theres orc vs undead.

Randomness doesn't necessarily destroy competitive balance. It's a common fallacy.

I never said that it necessarily destroys anything, but I'm pretty fkn sure that it ruins wc3.

That what surprises/disturbs me about eSports fans sometimes. An element of chance makes for an exciting game. Even BW had uncontrollable element: several glitches, most notably Reaver's Scarab duds.

Personally I prefer if skill is the only thing that matters, but that doesn't mean that competitive games must have no random elements at all.
However you can't deny that, when the player you're rooting for loses just because the RNG turned its back on him, you get a bit angry.
Saying that something is killing esports is killing esports.

Anyone know if Tastosis will cast the PL game?

Probably not. They don't know much about BW anymore anyway.

They won't. Like last night the WCG streams will go down and we will have to switch to the OGN network streams for PL as no other games will be streamed during PL.

if there's 2 players : the one who won qualifies, if it's a 3-way tie (and they all beat eachother once), there there another series of games to break the tie, with hopefully one of the 3 going 0-2

Don't care, and this isn't the place to discuss it.

I thought head-to-head would be the tiebreaker...

But if you look at goody's group. They were in a 3 way tie. Did they play it out?

Yes they did and he won. If it's three way they play it out.

So they played 3 more games? that's nice.

It can be exciting, until good players lose multiple games that they were playing much better because their essential death knight got hit by 3 criticals in sequence.
I like the part where sense is considered a common, settled thing.

cmon dont go there seriously... With that logic lets not host anything in the states because of the genocide against the natives and for the low of good lets not host in anything in Germany, I mean we all know what they did just 70 years ago.

Green one is Electra, and it's kinda like a cheaper version of banshee, w/o all the pretty lights.

Chance isn't bad, but there's a world of difference between seeing a Reaver drop that may decide the game and seeing an item drop that may decide the game for a spectator.
