I was surprised because a lot of tvz are decided by how successful the initial pressure is, I think the bunker rush worked that game but he still got rolled in the midgame. I think using tanks to attack that base was the mistake. When a base is that far out of position, you need to use more mobile forces to hit it. If you use tanks, muta/ling will just move in to hit you where you left and clean up. If Jinro wanted to take out that base, he shoulda loaded up 2 medivacs with marine marauders
Also bad wall in, lings got through, sniped tank.

Granted, it was on ladder, but he definitely had a chance to advance. Don't rule him out yet. It wasn't Slayers'MMA, it was SlayersRyung. The player specifically answered MMA when HuK asked who it was. He also talked about up&down and that he wished MKP would fall. Ryung was mentioned in the chat, but that was HuK saying something along the lines of "I added you on twitter. You and Ryung." He might have played them both yesterday though.
it was ryung, huk opened cellas stream and saw ryung on the webcam and said "you tricked me".

Jinro put so much in to 2fact bfh and it got scouted, that plus not finding the hidden third got him even more behind and it kinda looked like a rape because of it , I think thats not being acknowledged enough and jinro looked worse than he deserved to imo.

Terrans have the right to do whatever it takes to win just like every other race. If you don't like their methods blame the game not the players- they're just working with what they're given same as every other race. The fact that Zenio was able to come back and win game three shows that there's nothing wrong at all with that bunker rush. It's a calculated risk not an auto-win. I agree with this. The thing is, I've been watching all the Jinro games even before he won MLG and I've seen him at his absolute peak and I've seen him in games where he wasn't hot. In the games today he didn't play that bad. There weren't a lot of glaring mistakes, and his micro was still up there (there were a few times where he was just a tad slow, but nothing big). He made a tiny mistake of not scouting the hidden base fast enough that last game and it cost him the whole thing... Hang in there Jinro, your fans still love you. +1 to all of the above <3 Liquid
This, it seems that he lacks of practice, i hope he could recover it 'cause he's one of the most amazing 'ran when he plays his S game.

Jinros play doesn't advance somehow in the last months, he is still playin' the good old bunker rush stuff sometimes followed with banshee harrass since first day of his gsl appearance. I mean zenio playing the ice fisher, Coca droppin rogues etc. while Jinro just keeps playin' the same "game" over and over again. Hope that Code A will wake him up, cuz i really love that dude he is such a freakin' awesome person.

Correct me if I'm wrong but players knocked out of Code A are allowed to join the qualifier tournament next season even if they aren't top 200 correct? Jinro has an account called Checkraise, which is in GM. 1) Jinro is not the only one using that smurf account. 2) Huk was the one that grinded that account to GM league. Foreigners dont have to be in the top 200 to be in the code B quals thats why carn gimble and spades manager were able to participate.

oh my what horrible play today. well it was only a matter of time till the korean scene marginalizedhim. terran without op spawns is actually dificult to play which means no more terran foreigners in code s.

I think that it's about time that the TL guys in Korea get a fresh approach to the game. That would be conceding defeat and saying that they can't hang with the best in the world. I don't think they would do this any time soon. But to be fair, they can't.. least not at the moment.
The problem is that if they remove themselves from the scene, then they never will and it will only create another BW-like division in skill between the Korean scene and the international scene. Foreigners need to stay in Korea and fight rather than pack it up and leave the moment it feels like they're losing ground. I can understand leaving if it's purely a financial issue (it's expensive to live in a foreign country) or emotional issue where they might have lost their passion for the game, but so long as they're aiming to be the best, they need to be competing against the best.

Unfortunately for TL, people love the actual team. So some people are gonna be complete ass-hats, and use two months of results to judge the team when the same method could be used to condemn any team at some point in time. Thanks dumb nuts.

It is, people are for some reason reading "Loser of match 1 (CoCa vs Jinro) vs Zenio (game 3)" as how good was the loser. It's just a spoiler free poll that doesn't give away who won between CoCa and Jinro for the OP...

Not sure if Jinro/Huk/TL should stay in Korea. It would be good to have a bigger international presence for TLAF, and Jinro could benefit greatly from playing in the swedish team house. Having only 2 members of the team in korea makes it very difficult i imagine for them to not get home sick, even if they have good relations with the OGS house.
On the other hand, the international scene is blossoming, so TLAF can show all these scrub ( ** joking) teams, who's boss.

Sad day, but life goes on... I hope Jinro does beast mode in Code A!
|
Ok... it's a pretty fair statement to say Jinro showed bad games today, but to say he is a bad player is silly. Good players often times get lost in the current metagame, and that often creates a strong perception of bad decisions from a player, which are two very different things. Jinro has even publicly announced his struggles in both tvp and tvz.
He's playing to win, and he felt his best chance was to snowball off an early lead or end it right in the early game. that doesn't mean he can't get better at his matchups, or that his mechanics have magically vanished over a small course of time... it means the game is changing and he's having a hard time adjusting right now.

Code A and S are really starting to weed out the players who just simply are no longer getting better or weren't that great in the first place. I guess so. He's still a top 4 finisher in two GSL's not too long ago, so I think a lot of you are counting him out early. I think he could bounce back for sure.

Most zergs(I think) would try to defend their 3rd hatch. But,Zenio immediately sacked that base and went for a counter attack when most of jinro forces were at the 3rd hatch base and catching him out of position and deal so much damage.Zenio also had his gold base just up and expanding towards the left which is his 4th Hatch.Basically, I know its was over by then.

tbh im surprised more of the liquid guys haven't moved back from korea, or even moved back to Europe and played the tournaments there. Western eSports is exploding and theres cups almost every day for like 100 euros per day which adds up and is really good practice, not to mention all the LANs like dreamhack, assembly, the gathering, gadgetshowlive lan, that LAN in italy i can't remember that hausobs won, and a ton of leagues
They are definitely skilled enough... especially haypro who hasn't really had any success in GSL, but could probably win a lot of these other tournaments.
I remember Ret said if you don't make Code S its not even worth staying in Korea (at least to him)... since the prize money is so poor, plus you can't even participate in any other tournaments due to latency issues.
its also MUCH better advertising for Razer and TLAF (and any future potential sponsors), but i guess its up to the management.
also worth noting it is very expensive to buy plane tickets from Korea

I believe in HuK, I think he's gonna make it out of the up and down matches like an OG.

We've seen that a practiced and well-prepared Jinro is a scary thing. And while I'm not saying he didn't prepare hard for these matches, I do think frustration regarding the current meta-game or possible perceived flaws in the game design of both TvZ and TvP could be greatly stalling his growth as a player by causing him to focus his practice in certain areas of gameplay that do not increase his overall skill level.
