So just out of curiosity, who is the ISP that is providing for the Dallas Convention Center?

It's not Halo.

The other games are team leagues. 20k for 4 players (halo/Blackops) or 5k for SC2.

Same per person.

This is pretty impressive, and it's not like it's their first SC2 event so I wonder what happened for the traffic to be so high.

It certainly shows how great teamliquid has handled TSL3, with their 30 000+ viewers; the stream was fine for me.

TSL3 wasn't broadcasted live and is not a huge tournament taking place at a convention center. Anyone that's actually been to a convention in one of those centers knows that the internet is awful.

This is pretty impressive, and it's not like it's their first SC2 event so I wonder what happened for the traffic to be so much higher than the previous ones.

It also certainly shows how great teamliquid has handled TSL3, with their 30 000+ viewers; the stream was still fine for me.

Try 50K+ viewers.

Has Huk vs Spades been played in the winners bracket of the open bracket yet anyone know?

ALL games are on pause right now I think because of the lag spikes

Yeah I know all games are paused I just didn't know how fast they are updating the brackets to consider how accurate they currently are. Guess i'll assume they haven't played yet since nothing was was posted from TL on twitter about the results.

This is one of the reasons esports will never become big in the US. Our infrastructure is so old, and in such bad shape that they can't even deliver reliable bandwidth to a major city. Worse part is there are fiber lines all over the US that were build 10-20 years ago but remain dark because the teleco monopolies don't want to spend the money to get them active.

Nice trolling

Not trolling dude look all of this stuff up. There are tons of strands of fiber that are going unused.

Except its pretty obvious that SC2 attracts more viewers.

Everyone complaining about the stream issues:

1) Go to http://support.akamai.com/flash/index.html (can take a while to load, the Akamai support player is meant primarily for video stream debugging)
2) Copy-paste into "Enter URL to test here" following RTMP-stream url: rtmp://cp121276.live.edgefcs.net/live/estreamsq_3@49981
3) Press "Test" button on the left
4) Video starts streaming with messed up aspect ratio - go to full screen mode on the player and enjoy. You won't be seeing any advertisements either (instead you just see "Stream will resume momentarily" static screen during the commercial breaks)

The stream is LQ flash-stream where the browser falls back in case you don't have Octoshape installed. It is streamed via Akamai (_the_ premier content delivery network) and they have a ton of capacity to handle live streams unlike (apparently) Octoshape.

It bums me a lot that MLG haven't got their stuff together considering the huge amount of funding they received from VCs. Don't really understand their decision still to continue using Octoshape even after all the problems that have been reported to them on previous occasions - and especially use it exclusively in HQ stream. Akamai's delivery costs are considerably higher than Octoshape's, but where in earth they are planning to use all the freaking dollars they got - the live streaming from the events is in the core of their business that I don't quite understand their decision making with regards to tech choices..

This is such an epic.... epic post.

Indeed, i rather watch this.

Holy shit it works.

"For those that purchased HQ passes for Dallas, we will be providing you with free passes to watch the HQ streams of our Columbus Pro Circuit Tournament on June 3-5. We will follow up with you individually with more details."

Wow, this is outrageous... we know you paid to see these games but now you can see more crap games later for free while we make thousands in advertising revenue because you are watching.... NO thanks ill take a refund though.
If you want to know your future, look to your current actions.
