Blizzard probably has refused.
actually, cod has always had lan. the problem was there was no lan lobby/was never implemented correctly (players are able to start the game/play the game earlier than other players). After 4 years of 4 different cod titles, treyarch merely adds a "countdown" timer so that every player can join the match before it starts. in reality, treyarch/activision still hasn't implemented a true lan lobby system.

Im not gonna comment of Stream uptime because everyone pretty much expressed themselves how they feel about it. The only thing it bothers me on this MLG for sure is this new format even being a bit more complicated, if you dont read about it previously, generates A LOT of matches, but that all goes to waste because they only have 1 stream wich forces you to see only a few matches.
Giving some feedback i really wish on fuiture MLG events they have like 4-5 streams showing different matches, so people can actually watch matches that they want and that would also relief a bit the insane number of views of the main stream making it easier to their main stream to handle.

They have to pay that rate for a contract period... For MLG is it worth it to buy a giant pipe and pay several thousands of dollars a month and then might not use it at all?
Again it sucks, but it really is a fine line of what the hell do you do.... It's sucks for us, it sucks for MLG. But it's not an easy fix either, they are probably on the call with their ISP and trying to get something worked out, but in the end they probably don't have a big enough pipe to their site. I would love to see the utilization charts on their main routers, I bet it's 100%.. For them to pay to have that increased when they only use that site for a weekend isn't worth it....
It is called an investment, and It would be well worth it as long as they make profit after paying overhead costs and what not, it seems they sold a LOT of season tickets, so chances are the cost would make up the means, and who says they can't host two events in the same city int he year and bring in even more money?
To have an event for a few days, it is not worth the investment, I'm sorry it is not. I work for GE and the amount of money some of our sites have to pay for just a bundle of 5 T1s is insane. That is a 7.5 mb up and down connection and that is thousands of dollars a month... I honestly don't know what the traffic hitting that site is, but I think it would need a big pipe...
You are quite naive. The amount of money MLG is losing right now via customer, player and sponsor dissatisfaction is orders of magnitute more than a measly few thousand dollars for a proper internet connection.

i just don't get why they don't just cast some replays of matches that weren't streamed... they have all the replays and the stream is even working (at least at the moment..) and they have casters that have nothing to do
it looks like they don't even want us to keep watching the stream... yeah nice crowd..not even music...just aweful..
