Yeah, it looked like HuK was pretty much dead

Cannons happen fairly frequently though, especially in PvP. That kind of play really doesn't compare to what Choya or Dimaga did. That's really mild cheese compared to the finely aged cheddar of those guys.

I am korean and I read a famous sc2 forum even pro players goto and they were very positive about Dimaga.
Some were saying Dimaga should win the whole tournament even before today's matches. Some were saying foreigners should do well in the gsl so that they can make the korean players work harder and stuff.
I was surprised. I thought it would be all nationalistic and going YEAHHHHH KOREA!!! but most of them were pretty open-minded.
they also thought Dimagas ceremony was cool .

Is this because of a team World bias (I mean, it IS teamliquid.net) or because the games are exciting from the underdog status of westerners?
Watching Korean Soccer team in World Cup, I would say you not new to being exited for your team.
Cap obvious....

I have to disagree with this. At that level Terran is by far the easiest race. Why? We can all agree that at that level all races players macro sucks. But Terran macro is most forgiving. If you do not inject larva you cannot ever get that time back, if you miss warpgate cycles or forget to chrono you cannot get that back. Terran mules punish less if they are not used optimally and their production buildings all have build queues which are much easier to use for a newbie and help more to macro better. How? well you miss your first timing of building units and now you queue up a couple of units in each baracks/factory/starport. That will make sure you do not miss any of them for a while while toss and zerg players keep fracking up their macro over and over and have now way to make sure it gets better for a while.
Anyways, ON topic: GO GO DIMAGA!! Hopefully you can study SanZenith and take him out in Ro8.

He was pretty much dead yeah - but it was just a pretty horrible move from a progamer , yet alone one who claimed he had "top 3 control in the world"

Bullying HuK for losing to MVP. Always mocking HuK just for something he said months ago. What about you start remembering good and honest things he did and does. He actually wrote on his facebook wall like 15 minutes ago: Sorry everyone, I really don't know what else to say ...Tell me about another pro who is actually apologizing to his fans when not playing as well as he could. I'm not a fanboy, I just don't get the mocking. And oh yeah. GO DIMAGA!!! Lots of players apologize to fans in interviews after bad performances... HuK never gives credit to opponents when he loses, always talks about himself and how good he is, just not very likeable. There is a different between months ago and weeks ago. But he's always full of himself. And due to the fact he can't even support his arrogant behaviour with results despite practising in korea, he gets lots of people mocking him. When idra does it tho everyone loves him for it. IdrA has showed credit to better players before, in many interviews. He might trashtalk against some players, but fans mainly like it when the other player is obviously worse than him, but still manages to win a series of games. //tx Thats true. I enjoy his opinion a lot if he is on state-of-the-game. He never holds his opinion back in fear someone might not like it. Hes spent so much time convincing everyone that zerg is unplayable, that it gives him and thousands of ladder zergs the right to: Show absolutely no respect for the skill of their oppponents, immediately assume because they are zerg that they have outplayed their opponent, and blame any losses on imbalance. Yeah, I am a somewhat IdrA fan. But stating that zerg is unplayable is a joke. When I play custom and I see that my opponent is gold or lower I always switch races. A couple days ago there was a bronze zerg complaining about imbalance. He told me that Terran was OP and when I told him that on his level the game was perfectly balanced, he referred to IdrA... Zerg vs Terran is in a good state now. We see Dimaga his style, We have July his style. Both work. Zerg vs Protoss was never a real problem. Except on bad maps like Jungle Basin. Even in the finals I had this feeling that July made wrong decision. IdrA vs Cruncher same thing. Idra went for 6 more drones when Cruncher started moving out, and then he wanted to stepmicro some roaches but got trapped by some impressive forcefields. Those together were 11 roaches he trew away before the fight started. Zerg might be a bit weaker. I don't know. Playing zerg doesn't forgive making mistakes. But it can be cruel to play against as well. (Morrow vs Jinro)
Idra has been justified in the past for saying zerg is weak. Patches have gone some way to improve the situation though. Like you say, ZvT is not such a problem as it was before many patches happened. ZvP is still somewhat difficult, potentially, but then we only just had a new patch so it will take time to see what impact that has. After roaches got buffed to 4 range, suddenly there was a short period of zergs doing much better (only very short) before T and P adapted. Z has to take a bit of time to work with infestors.
On that note, and more relevant, I was surprise Nestea went for hydralisks against DImaga. Dimaga was obviously going hydras, because that's the most natural move, so doing the same while you are behind in every way isn't really going to give you the best chance to win unless there's a way in which you can use your micro to beat the other guy. Going infestors might have maybe given him a better chance, rather than trying to follow Dimaga while being behind.

Dimaga is sort of a beast. And he is so damn smiley all the time :DDD

Really funny how people call Nestea vs Dimaga an upset and how Dimaga surely can compete in code S after seeing these matches, Dimaga and many others have been just as good if not better than the koreans for a long long time.

I think because Korea is still the mecca of Starcraft skill for the most people and so to see foreigners catch up and be able to win still feels great and special.
If you would in the future just speak of Sweden, Germany, Ukraine, USA, Korea etc itself and all would be skillwise on the same level instead of on the one hand you have Korea and on the other hand the rest of the world then I think everyone would just be biased to his country, but wouldnt be interested to see Koreans get beaten by someone from a other nation in particular.
but aslong as Korea is seen as something special in the Starcraft universe it will be like you mentioned.
