Just watch the MVP vs Adelscott vod. I must say even though Adel played really good with his ''almost'' only gateway units style I'm a little disappointed with MVP's play. He must have had at the least a little lag issues, just look at the reaper control, that wasn't MVP micro at all...
Still Adel has proved once again that mass gateway can be effective against Terran.
Kinda funny how almost all the P we're going ''Patch 1.3 will be the patch where all will Protoss go for the Collosi ball 100% of the games.
While Adel did get out some Collosi, they came out late and he never really had a large ball of them.
Pumped to see QXC vs Genius and Nestea vs Goody although twitter became my doom giving away all the results. I will still enjoy the matches anyway i guess.
Oh and lol i just went 0-4 yesterday. Worst bracket predictions ever inc xd.

MVP did not do any large blunders except that he went for unupgraded MM against upgraded gateway units and I don't think lag has anything to do with that. I forsee Terran using mech against P to negate this. I'm not sure if you've ever seen MVP play before but typically he can control his units at an above Bronze league level and things like losing units to probes and being completely unable to kite are not the norm. Considering MVP displayed zero unit control throughout any of the games Adel should have steamrolled him and the only reason the games were close is because MVP was constantly spending his money, whereas Adel would go into fights with 20-40 supply less than he'd have if he could macro well.
I can't believe that people say that Adel played well when he floated 2k resources a dozen minutes into the game and would completely fail to macro in every single battle. He has done this all gateway style for quite some time already with mediocre results, for instance I remember him being rolled over by Thorzain and then being BM about it.

MVP would have shut down a 15 nexus no problem he even opened 2 barracks before command center , but couldn't do anything against it because of lag .

Can't help but wonder if anyone at all actually got close to the correct bracket in the contest so far.

How? 2rax isn't the most micro intensive thing to do, especially when your range units are as slow as zealots and their units even slower from conc shell

Without getting too much into it, how can anyone say lag 'isnt that big of a deal' after these games? Not to take away anything from the players, the matches were entertaining and all, but when a player like MVP loses an absolutely crucial reaper and a marine that is just as crucial to probe surrounds, how can you say lag isn't an issue there?
I'm not saying the foreigners didn't play well or didn't deserve to win or that Koreans are gods and us mortals are unworthy or anything - and I realize there isn't much that can be done about latency issues without some investment from Blizzard's side - but seriously, people claiming 'excuses theres no lag lol', that's just so ridiculous.

A little bit sad cause its actually the tournament that I could watch live quite comfortably giving that it has some of the games play at weekend and I always got problem with the GOMTV, to what I see from the VOD of Nestea vs Goody 2nd game is really like a under platium level game, i mean i would not mind to have 1 ling at the eye and 1 ling at the enemy to see the timing they push out, when the banshee shot the drone, not until he kill 2 drone that nestea has an reflect action during the time he didnot do anything else beside control both main and natural, again in game 3, during the goody hellion sneak attack, no ling in any of the eye, no speed roach, no overlord tranportation upgrade, not even muta, when 2 tanks seiging in front of the eye of the roach in the terran main he just simply ignore it . It is sure disappointed to see this kind of level from this tournament
And too bad, im on a 0-4 bet result today, congrats the winner anw

This is the sad reality without having custom games being hosted by an actual person instead of Bnet. Additionally, not being able to scale the inbuilt latency in custom games adds additional delay.

International online tournaments arent winning my vote at the moment.
The best games come from the best performances. The best performances come from the best conditions. The best conditions are when there is minimal lag(IE. LAN) Very high end machines, and real time crowd participation.
If you seriously think these games are good. Watch the Two finals of the GSTL. IM vs Startale and Slayers vs IM. Particularly IM vs Startale. Oh em gee.

Not trying to nitpick but there is no LAN. The ideal situations will be a rarity and in between them such competition like the TSL needs to exist.

Just watched Ret vs Naniwa and it was quite the let down. I mean Ret has amazing mechanics and I think he's really onto something but his decision making in both game1 and 2 (besides that zealot practically winning the game for nani in game1...) was quite poor .
Game two though showed something that I've been thinking about alot, when Zerg gets that economical advantage there is actually no point in getting maxed fast with whatever crap units you can make (roach / ling / hydra) but instead just stockpile larvae like crazy and make whatever you actually need when you have greater tech. This also allows you to make emergency units if you face a earlier push.
I think he could've saved 12 o'clock and practically strangle nani even without just crushing him with that last push, but regardless the style I think is the future of zerg, where you will instead reinforce with stronger units with better upgrades instead of just maxing out fast and throw money at the opponent, really utilizing the larvae mechanic.

What i just wanted to mention ... do you guys EVER watch cella playing on NA servers? Do you gives EVER feel like he plays much worse than on KR? Imo ... no.
So please get back into your caves
Imo KR players were just overconfident and did not prepare enough.
@Kyuki nah that Ret lost was lag .... oh wait ... but yea he wasnt even in GSL ... oh wait ...
|
I really dislike this attitude of "Foreigners won, that must be because of lag."
Everyone can be beaten with enough practice. Qxc played one of the best games I've ever watched of him. He harrassed all game, with reapers, nukes, drops, cloaked ghosts, he just outplayed Genius. Adelscott was amazing in his response to MvPs gamestyle.

We never know until maybe WCG when ppl really gather in one place to answer ur question, lets say, some actions we seen today just not come from the same guy that we saw in GSL, an overconfident and unprepared situation may result in game strategy not completely losing control or reaction after more than 10 seconds.

I never put up a question. And i didnt say that KR won't be able to crush EU/NA players. I just don't see the lag as the main issue here. For me it was more a rather cocky attitude. I would agree with those ppl saying that what we saw wasn't the niveau we saw on GSL, but thats not the problem of lag - thats why i referred to cella.
Imo it is sad to see all those ppl goin "lag !!!" instead of "why dont the KR players take it serious and PLAY like they used to do."
In any other tourny we saw KR competing with foreigners there was not that much time of preperation for a single oponent like what we saw in the TSL right now, that's what makes me so sad.
Im not into those KR players because i cant identifiy with them, and with such preformence i never will.
I like our EU/NA guys because i see a lot more of passion to the game.

Last night to me was like watching a bunch of mid-tier tennis pros play at their usual level and pull out wins against Federer, Nadal and Djokovic while they play as if they've never held a racquet before.
Seeing Adel and Goody have close games against players showing no semblance of unit control only reinforced my belief that the gap between Korea and the West in SC2 remains quite large. Their standard of play was pretty clearly sub-Code A imo.

Can't understad why people praise goody's style so much >_>
It's got to be the one most boring style to watch I have ever seen. I've never enjoyed watching a goody match.
