Naniwa's obs literally came just in time for tht roach burrow timing. Had it not, it would've been devastating. Also i believe all of naniwa's gates were powered on 1 pylon but Ret didn't target it down.

Naniwa has game sense.

If you could somehow combine Ret's macro with Naniwa's decision making and micro you would have an amazing player.

Perhaps ret´s macro is the wrong decision.

I really hope Goody wins, he's a lot of fun to watch. It's gonna come down to how well Nestea controls his infestors, fungal on the vikings is key to win against Mr. Tank.

So I got Genius wrong, QXC is better no question, but for some reason I thought the korean would just proxy or 4gate all games successfully.

Tomorrow is looking amazing :D

So you voted Adel and Goody because they're better than MVP and Nestea and now you think qxc "is better no question"? Go back to dota man.

Big day of upset. After watching every GSL + GSTL, I feel that the Koreans played extremely poorly today than they usually do at the studio, not sure why. Even MC's 2nd game the other day was played poorly compared to his standard play in the GSL.

Even as a low-level Protoss player, I am surprised that in all those games Ret allowed the Protoss to get exactly the army he wanted. That is the one thing every Protoss player wants - Free rein to get the exact death ball and Naniwa got it in every game. Really, really surprised at that.

How do you suggest he stop him from doing that? Dropping obviously didn't work in the first game, and sentries/zeals shut down all zergling agression in the early game. As a matter of fact, sentries shut down all agression in the early game.

I'm sure ret of all people would know how to handle it, I just think that it might not be as easy as just denying him from getting a certain unit composition.

Maybe not focusing as much as he did on roaches, or something.

Yeah, as I said I am low-level, so I cannot suggest any strategy at the highest level. But I did find it surprising to say the least. Even in my level of play, I find people doing something like zergling run-bys, Mutalisk harass or something that doesn't allow me to be in perfect shape for that one battle, which is all Protoss want in an ideal scenario.

Last game was hardly an upset.

I went 3/4 on my liquidbet tonight. Only missed on qxc's game, he has obviously improved by playing in europe.

You are somehow proud you called goody vs nestea, fluke of the century. Go watch some of Goody's matches on gosugamers, and then come back and seriously tell me he is at half the level nestea is.

What? How is he proud for one, and two, whaaaaaat? I also "called" GoOdy over NesTea because I'm smart

No that is called luck, Goody would lose first round in Code A 9 out of 10 times.

NesTea < GoOdy (could go either way though)
-Like others have been saying, NesTea is not preparing at all for the GoOdy style, and I think that will take him off guard. It's like playing against ActionJesuz for the first time, NORMALLY, you would know exactly what's coming at you, and plan accordingly, and that is where GoOdy probably loses the most, when his opponents know exactly what he's going to do, and plan accordingly. But for a first time playing against GoOdy, you might not know what to do against the Panzer General. That said, it will all come down to how NesTea reacts to this. He is after all, probably the best Zerg in the world, so you have to think that he would respond better than any other player who's playing in the dark against an extremely unique stylistic player. So this one is really hard to predict because it all comes down to how NesTea reacts. All things considered, I go with GoOdy

Experience? Whenever you lose any amount of zerglings early on you expect that the toss will poke your nat with his army, to either kill you or force you to make more shit. If you lose your entire army vs a zerg then you expect a counter from him. You have cannons at your front, sentries so on shakuras you reallyyyy expect the backdoor counter push. You at least patrol with a few units near the backrocks if you haven't plopped a pylon down there already.

Also went 3/4. I didn't except Adel's gateway style to match up well against MVP's awesome bio. IDK what happened there.

IdrA has seemed to all but given up on roach/hydra in ZvP due to how crap they are against force field and colossus, and has been doing extremely heavy zergling/baneling into infestor in his ladder matches.

Zerg usually get far ahead of protoss in econ, but die anyway to the 3 base deathball. So IdrA does crazy stuff like running 25 banes into a protoss third nexus. Sure you lose 2500/1250, but a 2 base protoss is far far far weaker than a 3 base protoss.

Hope he tries it vs Cruncher

I think he had half his army at his front, so he just made sure to be ready for a counter attack.

He saw his roaches disappearing towards bottom left either he was holding a roach picnic in his dead hatchery or he was going to be heading towards the back door.

2/4 ><

knew I should of gone with QXC, still amazed MVP played that poor...

I'm not shocked that GoOdy beat NesTea and Naniwa beat Ret.

NesTea doesn't counter pure mech in a tournament setting enough and Ret drones too hard. Although, I'm shocked Naniwa didn't play anywhere near as aggressive as I thought he was going to. He could of punished Ret in all three games for his greedy triple expands the same way SlayerS_Alicia punished NesTea in the GSTL Finals.
