Even as a low-level Protoss player, I am surprised that in all those games Ret allowed the Protoss to get exactly the army he wanted. That is the one thing every Protoss player wants - Free rein to get the exact death ball and Naniwa got it in every game. Really, really surprised at that.

How do you suggest he stop him from doing that? Dropping obviously didn't work in the first game, and sentries/zeals shut down all zergling agression in the early game. As a matter of fact, sentries shut down all agression in the early game.

I'm sure ret of all people would know how to handle it, I just think that it might not be as easy as just denying him from getting a certain unit composition.

Maybe not focusing as much as he did on roaches, or something.

IdrA has seemed to all but given up on roach/hydra in ZvP due to how crap they are against force field and colossus, and has been doing extremely heavy zergling/baneling into infestor in his ladder matches.

Zerg usually get far ahead of protoss in econ, but die anyway to the 3 base deathball. So IdrA does crazy stuff like running 25 banes into a protoss third nexus. Sure you lose 2500/1250, but a 2 base protoss is far far far weaker than a 3 base protoss.

Hope he tries it vs Cruncher

Carpet bomb it with banelings :D

Even more entertainment value!

But yeah, zergs are going to have to pull the proverbial rabbit out of the hat to deal with protoss' amazing late game builds. It'll be intresting to see where it goes.

and I thought the GSL this year was full of upsets.... lol

I don't get the MVP one. Protoss is his worst match up and kept him in code A. Adel is a top protoss.

Anyway I'm 3/4 cuz I bet right there.

He won against various top protoss recently @GSTL and no , adel is NOT a top protoss.

Naniwa has game sense.

If you could somehow combine Ret's macro with Naniwa's decision making and micro you would have an amazing player.

Last game was hardly an upset.

I went 3/4 on my liquidbet tonight. Only missed on qxc's game, he has obviously improved by playing in europe.

You are somehow proud you called goody vs nestea, fluke of the century. Go watch some of Goody's matches on gosugamers, and then come back and seriously tell me he is at half the level nestea is.

What? How is he proud for one, and two, whaaaaaat? I also "called" GoOdy over NesTea because I'm smart

No that is called luck, Goody would lose first round in Code A 9 out of 10 times.

You seriously underestimate him. As most of his opponents do if they have never played him before.

I've watched many of his games on gosugamers, I thought he was a low tier amateur then, and I still think he is now. You say under estimated, I say many people watch his games and realize hes bad. I agree with that majority.

Don't know if anybody mentioned it but Goody was on Skype with Take during the last minutes of his champions trophy broadcast and gave a short interview a few minutes ago.

He said the games were actualy played on wednesday and how hard it was for him to keep quite about the results. Also the games went as he were expecting them hehe...
Thanks a lot for bringing this spoiler to the LR thread before the conclusion of the match.

The games were still entertaining but come on. How could you think spoiling the outcome would be appreciated?

He clearly has maphack.

Just like MiStrZZZ in the good old Broodwar days *rolleyes*

In my opinion, it's because of good intuition, as Ret was always pretty far forward with his roaches in that game, except at the exact moment, where Ret's his roaches stayed out of his vision for more than a minute, and it was the only part of the map that he couldn't see, except Ret's bases and the top...

And it's not like he kept all of his army at the back of his base waiting, he kept a small group of units defending his base, running from his main entrance to the back door....

Maybe you don't know BW, but I was sarcastic. MiStrZZZ was a BW Protoss, who had a real good game sense, which provoced people to claim he has maphack till it was proven that he didn't. So yea, I was being sarcastic

I really hope Goody wins, he's a lot of fun to watch. It's gonna come down to how well Nestea controls his infestors, fungal on the vikings is key to win against Mr. Tank.

So I got Genius wrong, QXC is better no question, but for some reason I thought the korean would just proxy or 4gate all games successfully.

Tomorrow is looking amazing :D

What the fuck?

I think he means that QXC was much better than he had expected after his IEM performance. The games werent that surprising though since all of QXC fans know he is the king of EMPs.

No I'm talking about his reasoning, "QXC is better no question" " the korean would just proxy or 4gate all games successfully [(Genius the ultimate Macro toss])" and he voted for Adel and Goody, so that means he thinks they are better than NesTea and Mvp

wow naniwas game sense is amazing. He discovered the roaches attacking the backdoor so fast. In the first game he defended so many drops. He would be a great player if he scouted more.

Disappointed overall, especially for the Goody vs Nestea series. Goody's mechanics are sub-par to say the least and Nestea made several bizarre distances to throw away units when generally he is extremely economical with his unit/drone production. The Game 2 push was a nice metagame move by Goody but that's about it. Constantly supply-blocked, always having units queued...this is a top player? His mech play is undoubtedly refined, but it's a one-trick pony.

At first I was excited seeing Ret getting away with being so greedy, thinking I was going to see some monster plays. But instead, fail attack after fail attack, then its max low-tech zerg vs max protoss. gg ?

Naniwa played against Ret's style very well. It didn't seem intuitive to let Ret macro that hard, but seems Ret sticking with mass expansions and low-tech units was his downfall. I would have loved to see some infestors in the mix at least.
