Yep. The map advantage for Zerg on far positions allows the Z to take an early third and have the macro advantage against a mech Terran. He sacrificed many of units and floated 2000 minerals but still had the advantage by just blindly pressuring the T while he teched to greater spire. Once the Terran failed to switch to vikings (a bit silly to consider that NesTea was running roach/ling/bane in his army until then) made it an auto-win situation. Although, he could of teched switch in a very narrow window of time.

This. He is awesome.
I think we should start a petition for this. It's a crime that Hot_Bid isn't getting a fan club for his obsing. He's just done an amazing job every single game. To bet that consistently good is just mind blowing.
Nestea did a lot of good things that game, typically playing that razor's edge macro style of his. But his decision making wasn't so great. I don't see him losing to goody but he might lose in the next round if he faces a really good opponent.
I feel more worried for ret than anyone. Naniwa will probably beat him.

how was that a mistake? he had a huge bank and needed supply for broodlords
It almost cost him the game. He did have a huge bank and needed to free up supply BUT he lost ~100 supply for 10 supply of mech units. Thats a mistake.

because donating units instead of using them to attack and die is always the better solution when freeing up supply right?
Although it was a bad reaction by Nestea - I don't think he expected the turrets would be there to spot the burrowed roaches and that he could unburrow on top of the tanks.

Rofl of course it was a huge mistake. If you want to free up supply you don't just kill your units but also want to kill some of your opponent's units.
He tried to do a burrow sneak attack, but he knew even if it failed, he NEEDED supply. He banked so much money that it was not a mistake. Yes ofc it would have been better if the roaches killed a few tanks, but losing 15 roaches at that point is honestly NOT EVEN CLOSE to a big deal

Thats the most critical part of mech, you know broodlords will come - gotta prepare.
It's not like he would have autowin with vik. If he had 3 vikings with his initial push he might have saved alot more troops, but without 6-7 at least he wouldn't have been able to keep pressuring.
Then Nestea can't just outright kill Goody but he still has 6+ bases up

if you're going to sac units, at least sac them while they're attacking
Nestea wasn't trying to sac his roaches and responded poorly with his roaches due to lag

Thors only tickle broodlords. Thor get a great bonus against light units and do splash - though their anti air is absolutely shit if they can't get both off. Brood lords are massive units and tend not to clump up, so it's a hopeless project.
Yeah and also thors AA fire is super slow. So they do like 7 damage every 1.5 seconds or something just as awful.
Yeah, the only way Thors do well against Brood is if the Zerg player is foolish enough to let them all clump up so that every missile connects with all of them, and the Terran has ~5+ Thors.

He has terrible mechanics, low apm, only plays mech and turtles every game :D he never uses bio and he still wins =) This is why goody has so many fans :D Its so funny to see the opponents raging after a 2hour game against him, because they walked into his siege tanks :D
I very, very, very rarely respond to threads filled with just "biased" "unbiased" arguments, but the reaction to this TSL Day3 is absolutely ridiculous. [not that my opinion matters lmao].
But with all honesty, this TSL3's matches have been completely ruined for me by this thread, and all the reactions. Half of me agrees with all the people saying lag is a major factor in the match outcomes, but its so sad to see that this lag issue is causing such a rage that all the foreign players are losing credibility and acknowledgment.
I honestly thought adelscott's build was interesting, considering that he rushed for armor upgrades fast, but I was so disappointed with MVP's plays as well. Reading this thread made me only listen to what was going on in Genius' match so I barely got to see that. I decided to stop reading to watch Nesttea's match, which he absolutely dominated, though with weird trade-offs.
I feel bad for the players who have to participate in this garbage, where their fans are just arguing over lag issues / real or not, thus taking away all their achievements, if any, that were made in this tournament. Then again, if lag is a problem, then the fans do have a full right to argue that.
I wonder what the players themselves have to say about this.
IMO, if you're going to play mech you need to be more aggresive about taking additional bases. 8 gases compared to 4 is such a huge difference when it comes to constant production.
I think shakuras is a terrible mech map though
xel'naga on the other hand I think is one of the best maps for mech. Four bases that are easy to defend
