This isn't like getting owned by an up and comer like bomber/yonghwa/seed because those guys just haven't had the opportunity to show what they can do in the GSL. Alive has been around for 3 seasons now and it's quite clear he's nothing more than an average player. It was fOu that was against alive.

Well, new blood but from Brood War again. I like watching those ex-pros move through SC2 also.

There are plenty of good players that aren't even in Code A yet alone Code S (Bomber, Puzzle, Seed, etc) People remember aLive from his fOu days, however as seen recently fOu just aren't that dominating as a team and, nothing against the guy, but Choya is their coach. Now it seems that TSL were able to develop aLive as a player.

Although I didn't watch all the matches, KT was never mentioned by the Korean casters..

Lol i have to point out a few things; aLive really isn't that fail of a player; he is in Code A (is that really such a bad thing) where he got beaten by SuperNova - the guy that came 2nd to Losira? as well as you mentioning Bomber? The guy that failed to qualify for anything GSL related? And then you end it off with ZeNex being pretty bad - a team that came 3rd in this league last season and have players who have All Killed oGs.. Harsh judgements right there

Ironic that you say that considering you mention Bomber, Yonghwa and Seed who have yet to qualify for Code A. I'm not saying that those three are bad or anything, I'm just saying that compared to them Alive has done a lot more to prove himself. He beat Zenio in GSL3, beat 3 Code S players (Marineking, Polt and Check) in GSTL1, and has so far only failed to get an opportunity to qualify for Code S because he keeps meeting fierce competition in the Ro16 (TOP and Supernova--one the eventual champion and one the eventual runner up). Go back and watch the game against Zenio. This guy has so much Code S potential and I would even say that he's better than his team mate Rain.

But Zenex is pretty bad too. o.O aLive is an average player, right, but he ist very solid, since he moved to TSL. He did very well in GSTL 1, where he almost Allkilled (not send out first, the first kill for TSL was already done by Tester) Prime, MarineKing included. In Code A the series against Supernova was really close. aLive had the far better mechanics but that day he had such a bad decision making and throw away massive amount of units which he normally didn't. fOu has no talented player shown up yet, beside Leenock who performed terrible today. ZeNEX isn't a bad team but definately some of the weaker ones. I don't know why they didn't send out Kyrix (wasn't there) or Byun.

I am just assuming that they used the GSTL to give more playing time on TV for the newer players, as a motivation method or to give them experience. Byun was there and was not used against a Zerg, despite him having a good ZvT, so it can't be for strategic or personal reasons.

You need at least seven or eight players to participate in the league, and right now TL only has three in Korea.

You could actually understand the game more than the best player in the world, you just can't apply your knowledge ingame, whether it be due to poor hand speed or just bad nerves.
